"On arrival we were told that our booking had been cancelled by the manager and we weren't given an explanation as to why or an apology. After a short wait the person on reception said another room had been found which was a double room with a sea view, which was what we'd booked originally. After viewing it, we decided not to stay. The standard wasn't good. The hotel needs some TLC and is more like a hostel."

"Really enjoyed my stay, it was relaxing. Used the pool and spa which was just out of this world. The grounds were well maintained and spent loads of time there. My only issue was my room (wendover) it was a good size and had an olde world charm to it but when looking at it closely there were many dead flies by the window and in the evening could hear rats running around up in the ceiling which was freaky and therefore had lack of sleep. I didn’t bring it up with the staff as I knew there wasn’t...

"Disappointing. No one advises you before you book a room . Very dated room . Needs refurbished. Room very hot and cannot open windows as a pigeon flew in . Air conditioning should be installed if you can’t open the windows . It had a very small sea view but the band stand which is opposite which we should be told about before booking very loud music . 5am motorbikes riding up and down seafront another lot of noise . Not an enjoyable stay ."

"We really liked the convenience factor for the wedding we were attending in Eridge. The rooms (x3) were basic with a king bed ( a Superking would have fitted) , two old looking arm chairs ( from a care home?) a VERY modern glass desk and modern oak headboard. The paint colours on the walls were nice, but the carpet was a sort of light charcoal (sensible rather than pretty) and the huge Roman blind was a strong cream with two strips of dark brown either side. It was as if three different people...

"We chose the hotel for its geographical location and proximity to friends and family on our visit to the UK. This property is very old with lots of charming period features and is set in spacious, lovely grounds. If there had not been a drought, they would have looked absolutely wonderful. The age (19th century?) prevents its rating exceeding 4 star. Our junior suite had been pleasantly furnished some years ago. "The hotel room was spotless clean, we stayed in a quadruple room with 3 children and 2 adults. The room was a good size and two single beds in a separated room. Beds were very comfortable and they had a fan in the room. The shower didn’t have hot water and the shower curtain could do with changing. The downstairs needs full renovation but we were there for one night so good for what we used it for and the price was excellent so cheap and okey for 1 night"
