Wonderful service and great food! We were attending a wedding and they were very helpful in suggestions on getting there and on the venue itself.

Lovely family owned pub and rooms. Highly recommended.

This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops. The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent. Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy) All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

Everything was perfect! Best nights sleep I've had in a while..they even got me a lovely birthday note

Very nice setting, big garden and a wonderful charming hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Audrey and Sarah at the New England on a fall weekend.

The hosts and property were delightful. However, I did not have a vehicle and the property is not convenient if you need to be in Lewes or Brighton as there is limited - no - public transportation and it is not within walking distance. Carol went above and beyond in carting me to Lewes each day!

Bartender and staff friendly

We had a truly wonderful stay at this charming, family-owned hotel in Eastbourne. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel incredibly welcome — they are warm, kind, and absolute masters of hospitality. It's clear they truly belong in this industry. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and their passion for providing a great guest experience shines through. The highlight of each day was the breakfast — it was nothing short of professional-level quality. Beautifully prepared,...

James and Fiona are terrific hosts. They are so sincere and happy in their work. We hope to return!

Great location, staff gracious and Owner Nick on site!

Great location. Clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Great staff-friendly and helpful.

The single room above a quiet pub has the best price you will find in the area, and an interesting history. Nice meals are available downstairs, very convenient. The Sunday lunch (I had the roast chicken with all the trimmings) was especially delicious. The friendly owners shared lots of information about the local area. The entire building is very clean and well maintained and the room is cosy with nice touches without being overdone. There is a tea kettle with coffee and tea options. The few...
