"I have never really written reviews for properties on Expedia previously. This is the first one. I stayed in this place in Aug 2022 while on TMB. I could not find a refuge on the trail and decided to try this venue. I will absolutely do it all over again. To begin with, the owner, Alfred, was very responsive before the trip. "I arrived at the property quite late and was given my room key reasonably quickly but I got into the room to see that a skylight had been left open and the room was freezing. I closed the skylight but there were no heating controls anywhere apart from a towel rail in the bathroom. There was a ventilation fan that seemed to be blowing cold air into the room. "The grounds were roped off so there was no where to enjoy the view. Reception never present had to phone them if you needed anyghing. This was the worst place I ever stayed at. They charge a lot of money to stay there with no amenities. The rooms have no AC and window opens just a little so air doesn't circulate...save your self from this horrible experience. There was nothing good about this place. If I could give them a 0 star, I would."

"Our family of 4 loved our stay in the quaint Les Balcons du Savoy! Staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The view of the surrounding Alps is spectacular! The property is an easy walk to the main street of Chamonix (lots of restaurants and shopping) as well as a short bus ride to the gondola for skiing. Thank you for a fabulous stay!"
