"Good location right on the high street in Melrose, but the hotel is very dated and in need of redecoration. I seem to have been upgraded and had a much better room than I expected, very large with a bay window overlooking the street, so I was very pleased with my stay. Breakfast is good and freshly cooked to order. "

"Nicely set up bathroom with full size tub and hot water. Only complaint was the 2mm turn of tap difference between scalding hot and ice cold😂Not a problem for bath but dicey for shower. Corner room with 3 windows so good ventilation but a bit noisy as on the high street. Food in pub was excellent with the best Cullen Skink I've tasted"

"The food is first class; the staff friendly and the room clean abd comfortable. B&B rate is a little higher than comparable hotels. Obviously you can expect traffic noise if you are at the front of the hotel being in the market square facing a road but we were woken very early by delivery men playing very loud rhythmic dance music from their lorry cabs. Hotel manager needs to speak with regular drivers about respect for sleeping guests. Lorry noise ok but NOT loud music. "

"Great price and room for the weekend. Only 3 dedicated parking spaces out front and if they're taken you have to move your vehicle every 2 hours around the square because of parking restrictions. Stairs and passages are tidy but could do with an update. Overall happy with the establishment."
