"Freshly cooked food to order, lovely staff, very clean and lovely room.
Only downside to our room was creaky floors which I presume are to do with the age of the building "

"Started with a booking issue via Expedia (small double rather than a king-sized bed booked) but resolved directly with the Hosts. Great location, opposite the park and lovely, solid furniture in the room. Parking permits available in the property for a small fee worked well. Just the shower could do with an update. If we visit again, I'd book a room with a bath."

"The staff were very helpful and made us welcome. The room was modern and looked as it had been recently renovated. Overall very pleased and will be returning."
"This is one of the best places we've stayed in for a long time. It was convenient to where we wanted to be, the room was clean and a good size but the thing that gets a 5 star review from us is the lovely staff. Katy and Chloe were exceptionally lovely, very helpful, friendly and welcoming to everyone. Katy was great with checking in and was our waitress in the evening, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Chloe was around in the mornings for breakfast shift. I saw her dealing with a family with extra needs and she was superb in her handling of those needs. I came away feeling that I would definitely like to stay there again, unlike a few other places we've stayed at. I hope that Marstons give Chloe and Katy a bonus for a 5 star review, and to be honest the rest of the team deserve a little something too as they were all friendly, but these two deserve an extra pat on the back :)"
"Really lovely hotel, location is ideal to get out and about around Whitby with a view of the abbey and the whale arches at your doorstep. The bed was super comfortable and a big smart tv in the room too which I know isn’t a big deal for some people but we like to watch a film before bed. My only issue I had was when we were checking in, we got to the hotel around 8:30pm which is understandable that it is way past check in time but there was nobody on reception so we had to wait around for 20 mins until someone finally noticed us as there wasn’t a bell or anything to try get attention. I understand they were probably helping out in the bar etc as it was very busy but it just made us feel a bit ignored and not valued as a guest."
"booked room only. there was free water, milk for tea and coffee machine and room made up every day. Amazingly down in the foyer their is a room with free coffee machine ,serving lattes , capuchinos, hot chocolate etc. free Biscuits or sometimes cake and ice water all day. Pets welcome and many clients were repeat users. We booked middle of June and the Hotel price was half the price of the Crown Spa and Crescent hotel.Overall great value for money."
"Room & bathroom super clean - bathroom was slightly outdated with noisy hot tap but useable.
Staff were friendly & helpful at all times & the views are amazing! A good overnight stay for great price for 3"
"Lovely place to stay just a short drive from Pickering. Helpful friendly staff. Very quiet location. We enjoyed dining in the restaurant and a drink at the bar. Breakfast was good too. Comfortable nicely furnished room. Highly recommended."
