"The issue with the hotel is the parking. A great hotel for us and our dog but the parking was an issue as my husband is disabled and we couldn’t get parked near to the hotel"

"Yes, these rooms are above a pub but you can’t hear any noise. The appointments were like that of a luxury hotel. The staff worked behind the bar at the pub for the most part and they were extremely responsive to any request. Not sure many tourists find their way to this particular town, but if you’re anywhere near Scarborough, this is the place to stay."

The Talbot Hotel, Malton, North Yorkshire

"We found The Talbot a very nice hotel. The only thing we didn’t like was that they added a 10% service charge onto our evening meal bill. The receipt said that this additional charge goes directly to the waitress and if you didn’t want to pay it you could ask for it to be removed. Any tip should be at the customer’s discretion. How embarrassing would it be to ask for them to remove it!! The hotel should make sure it’s staff are paid well so they don’t have to rely on customers’ tips. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay with the hotel being in a very good location for visiting Malton and surrounding areas."

"Although dated and in need of modernisation, this place was clean with everything you need. Checking in and accessing the room key was quick and easy. The room was large, bathroom was clean, bedding was clean. Tv worked. plenty of hot water."
