Enjoy elevated water views of the open ocean, Linekin Bay, and two lighthouses from this classic Ocean Point cottage. The ocean views cannot be beat as you enjoy them straight from the large, open living area. The wood-burning fireplace will keep you warm on those cooler nights, and you'll still be able to hear the sound of the crashing waves while you play board games or read one of the provided books. There is also a full kitchen for easy meal preparation, a furnished patio with a gas grill, and plenty of space for dining and relaxing indoors and outdoors.

Located right on the water, you may never want to leave this home's gorgeous vistas, but if you venture out, you'll find the Ocean Point Preserve just a half-mile away. The town center is less than four miles away, where you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

THINGS TO KNOW
The home has been upgraded with additional heat pumps which provide cooling and heating throughout the entire cottage.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The view!! Stunning!! In other news, this is a spacious, comfortable, functional house, in an excellent location. The kitchen is beautifully renovated, well equipped with pots and pans and utensils and appliances. And the hosts have taken the trouble to label all the drawers and cabinets, so you can actually find stuff. The bathrooms are all recently renovated as well: not luxurious or huge, but clean and attractive. The king mattress we slept on was very comfortable. The grill worked and we pulled a couple of the deck chairs around to face the sunset at cocktail hour.The neighborhood, Ocean Point, is very quiet and very friendly. The walk down Shore Road, past the Ocean Point Inn, with changing vistas as you proceed, was a treat; we ended up walking a ton and had lots of lovely little chats along the way. I would also add that this house is furnished with practical, sturdy, furniture. Everything comfortable and functional and in good repair but exuding a kind of old-school, no-nonsense, Grandma's beach house charm. You don’t need to get all fretful about your dog jumping up on a sofa or if you forgot to use a coaster on a table. Special props for the glass-topped dining table, perfect for a lobster dinner. This place is absolutely awesome, from all points of view. Highly recommended.

Love Ocean Point

My wife and I have been traveling to the region for many years and we particularly love the Ocean Point area. The location of this property is excellent - the views are great and a walk from the house to Grime's Cove couldn't be more beautiful. The house was very clean and had every possible amenity I could think of, plus a lovely welcome gift left for us by the owner - thank you!

Poor Maintenance House Held Together with Duck Tape

Good Location but problems with the house included: Safety Issues: 1. Only one door opens. 2. Propane Line attached to outdoor foundation about 1’ above ground. 3. Windows don’t lock. In fact ground floor window is held in place with duck tape. Pictures of interior on web site are misleading. Large power and cable lines (5) are right outside all ocean facing windows. Furniture is uncomfortable and not accurately pictured. Beds are old and uncomfortable plus jammed into bedrooms. New bathrooms looked nice and had good water pressure. Trouble being the shower head holder fell off in two bathrooms and hit us each on the foot plus the shower head fell and hit us in the head. Very Disappointed

The view is hard to believe!

The location of this amazing rental is not to be believed. From the deck, livingroom and sunroom you feel as though you are on a deck of a boat. The harbor extends out as far as you can see, each room with a better view than the last. If you want sallty Maine cabin, this is the rental for you. We felt very welcome and embraced by the hosts.

Perfect Family Celebration

This was a family gathering to celebrate the 80th birthday of the family patriarch, and it couldn't have been a more perfect place to gather. The kitchen and outside grill was ideal for preparing eat-in meals. The view is gorgeous. Being outside of Boothbay Harbor and its flock of tourists was also a big plus. Highly recommend.

Beautiful view, great location

Lots of room downstairs. Bathrooms have been totally renovated and made modern. View of the bay is spectacular. Location is close to town. Bedrooms are smaller than pictures would lead you to believe. Carpet is old & dirty. Refrigerator would not close. No lamps in any of the bedrooms. We really enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous spot but upsetting check in

This rental is in an outstanding location and the view from the deck is amazing. The property was clean and we had an enjoyable stay. A minor negative: the bedrooms are smaller than the photos show (some sort of fancy lens?) and the house is older. Most plugs are two prong. A more annoying negative: We could not get into the house. Vacasa would not help us (despite being at the address, calling from the phone number they had, and knowing the lock box combo) until we finally managed to dig out a reservation number we have never needed. (All they had to do was tell us there was a 2nd lock box on another door!) This is why we try to rent from individual owners and not big conglomerates! Will avoid renting a place managed by Vacasa again.

Location is wonderful, house could be too

With some minor updates, the house could be as wonderful as the views and location. Perhaps they are in the midst of updates since the bathrooms and towels were top notch! -Carpet needs cleaned or rather removed -Screens need replaced or removed (rather than scotch taped) -Bedding needs a good washing and drying (smelled musty like left overnight in washer) -King beds are two twins pushed together, they really could use a king pillow topper to even out the lumps -Living room furniture needs replaced (dust mites ?) -Random collection of knick-knacks are simply dust collectors -AC is only upstairs, not disclosed in description +Overall, the house is stocked with most items a guest would need, besides a hairdryer and iron. +WiFi was reliable +Kitchen well stocked for simple meals +Patio and grill were excellent +Private ocean front access across the street was a bonus!

Beautiful location with lots of space

This was our second family trip to this house rental. It was great to have so much space for 8 adults and two dogs. The deck is the best part and we spent the majority of our time there. Loved being able to cook meals and lounge around the property without having to leave the house everyday. Great area to take walks along the road. Only 5-10 minutes to grocery store and downtown Boothbay. The house caretaker stopped by twice to take the trash, maintain the flowers, he was a very nice gentlemen. We are waiting for the dates for next summer to open up so we can book it again for next year!

Ideal get away, even for a local like me!

Very roomy and open and beautiful views. All amenities you would need including folded towels and wash cloths on every bed. We were also greeted with a very nice gift basket sitting on the kitchen table. Bathrooms were new and very clean. Excellent place to stay and convenient to all Boothbay Harbor has to offer. I recommend it!

Perfect for a small Family Reunion

We 3 siblings rented this house for a gathering to celebrate Mom's 93rd birthday. It was perfect for that. The views are great looking out towards the ocean, with beautiful sunsets. There is a narrow, quiet street between the house and the ocean and there are some wires across the view, but the view was still great, and you feel like the ocean is "right there". The house is nothing fancy, but comfortable and "homey" reminiscent of the ocean cottage our grandparents had in the 60's.. We loved that the old time charm of the house has not been "modernized". Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds and pillows were all comfortable and the kitchen had all the basics. The downstairs bedroom/bath were perfect for Mom, and the 3 upstairs bedrooms were small with little space for clothing but having 2 bathrooms upstairs was worth giving up space in the bedrooms. We spent a lot of time in the little sunroom which had the best views and stayed warm even when it got too chilly outside to sit on the deck. The Maine Botanical Gardens were close by and a perfect way to spend an afternoon.. If you don't need fancy I would highly recommend this house, it has a wonderful old fashioned ocean cottage charm. (Also, my brother forgot a shirt hanging behind his bedroom door and the management company was very good about locating it and getting it back to him)

Terribly Disappointing

Reviews I read for this listing were great. I had high hopes. We were so disappointed! The home is older, which we knew from the pics, but the house was not clean and the furniture was tattered. Carpet had two huge stains on it in the living area. Dog hair was all over the couches. Inside windows had not been clean, dog nose prints, children's mouth prints on glass. One bedroom upstairs had sheets with dog hair on them. Took two calls to get clean sheets. On amenities, stated hairdryers in bathrooms, which are not there. We had to call 3-4 times to get 1 hairdryer. Also stated they had an iron/ironing board, which they did not. We call the management group over 5 times about this, kept saying the iron and ironing board were in the laundry room. There was not laundry room. We looked through every closet and cabinet. We never got an iron. Extra blankets were in an upstairs closet, but thrown on floor in a bundle. Doubted their cleanliness. With everyone worried about cleaning with COVID concerns, we were not feeling safe at all. Management group did very little to accommodate us. Although the booking was made through VRBO, the management group was Vacasa. They simply were not concerned with issues. Absolutely worsts house I have ever rented.

My visit

The property and neighborhood were lovely. Due to covid we understand the distance concern, however, instructions, emergency #'s etc would have been greatly appreciated. The fire alarms went off on our 3rd night there (3:50 a.m) We turned off the upstairs "heat" and after several attempts to reach out for assistance - no one came until 4:30 that afternoon. We decided to leave early due to safety concerns on our behalf. We were looking for peace and quiet and fire alarms going off in the a.m. without knowing why is not conducive to peace and quiet. Other than that, NO complaints, the place is LOVELY, I just wish I could have enjoyed my last full day scheduled there as well as my 4th night, but we left on the 3rd day just to be safe.

Nice Ocean Front Home

House sits up on a hill overlooking Boothbay and Linekin Bay out on Ocean Point.. Great views from the house. Quiet neighborhood when we were there.
