"If you want to see what it’s like to live in the great city of Edinburgh when you visit, then this top floor flat near the Meadows is ideal. We enjoyed the proximity to the tourist aspects while enjoying the neighbourhood amenities (coffee shops, best fish and chips, groceries, close bus stops, good restaurants nearby). The flat is nicely furnished with very firm beds and the bonus of sinks in some bedrooms. Room darkening blinds were appreciated as it was light very late and early morning...

"The flat is cute and close to the mile It is up a steep alley way, so not good for people with mobility issues. We immediately realized the instructions to turn on the boiler and heater were incorrect; (after calling we found out the switch is on the kitchen counter and not the bedroom closet). We turned on the boiler and the heat, and left for dinner. It was freezing when we returned, we assumed it just needed to heat up. We contacted the host the next day, no heat and the tv stick...

"This apartment was just what we wanted when looking to stay in Edinburgh. There were a few local restaurants and bars hidden amongst the apartments, within walking distance of many main attractions, and easy to find. The only thing I’d tell Americans, it’s the 2nd floor apartment (which is 1st level in Europe)."

"The photos on the ad looked nice and the amenities sounded good but we were disappointed to find green mold in the coffee maker and black slime in the washing machine; an intermittently functional microwave and an ineffective clothes dryer with a door that popped open when we tried to use it and a panel in the bottom that wouldn't stay on. The kitchen was inadequately provisioned: there were no usable knives to cut vegetables and we had to buy a pot to cook pasta. The cutlery was oily, needing a...

"This hotel was amazing. It was very modern and very clean. They even upgraded me to a deluxe room, which had more space and windows. It was very roomy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I couldn’t believe I could find such a nice room at such a great price right in the Royal Mile. You have to be careful which ibis you go to since there are two just a block away, but they obvious are used to people’s confusion as they instantly asked to see my reservation, anticipating I first went to the wrong room (which I did). I still don’t understand why no hotels have Kleenex available, but it’s all of them."
