Thank you for visiting my 'home away' offering. My little farmhouse is near Elkins but only 20 minutes from razorback Stadium and downtown Fayetteville. You can have the best of two worlds, enjoy the fresh air and country atmosphere but you can enjoy city life as well. I can't put all the things you want to know here but I will try to outline a number of things I feel you do want to know when planning your travels. For example, Ride this train excursion thru the Ozark and Boston Mountains on the Arkansas/Missouri Railroad.\ or drive over to the flying Q farm (about 10 minutes) and go for a great trail ride. Call Susan. Add War Eagle Fair and Mill and Caverns to your list of things to do. If your coming to U of A events it is about 20 minutes away. A must see is Chrystal Bridges Museum of American Art (about 45 minutes away). It is a visit you will not forget.
We have BABY SITTING service available (by appointment only)The phone number and information is contained in your visitors packet that you will find upon arrival.
This farmhouse has kept much of its early 1800's charm but has been updated to suit the needs of today's travelers. It has two bedrooms the Master bedroom has a queen size bed and its own bath. The laundry room is accessed from the bath. The second bedroom has an antique full size iron bed (been in the family for four generations). The second bath has a footed tub to soak your cares away. Once you're done soaking mabe you would like to watch TV or a movie. The living room has a TV with a built in DVD player we have left a few movies for your enjoyment or watch satellite provided by dish network. We also have Free Wi-Fi for you.
You will find upstairs located above the Master bedroom a lounge with TV. satellite, a game table, radio and mini-refrigerator. This also serves as a bedroom with two daybeds.
Outside you will find a deck off the kitchen for outside dinning or just some peace and quite. This is also where you will find a swimming pool and a hot tub perfect for six or eight if you are friendly. The backyard also offers a BBQ grill (charcoal), and fire pit. Lots of room in the back to enjoy nature. This home sits on 2.25 acres. Great for outdoor activities .. A very nice church is next to us on the East side and two very nice homes on the west side. Our friendly local police and county deputies pay close attention to the entire area. We feel very safe in our neighborhood. In your packet you will find information about:

Historic Farmhouse Vacation Stay

Full of charm

This property was perfect for our family of 5. I was comfortable, cozy and clean. We were visiting our son (U of A) and attended a football game. It was a short drive but very easy and convenient. We would definitely book again.

This place exudes History. Just amazing.

The property is vintage 1830's with the modern twist of satellite, pool, hot tub. The host was very accommodating and thoughtful. The little touches that you would find at home, trash placement, jars of snacks, etc were all there. Just outside of town, it was peaceful and relaxing.

Your place was perfect for our girl weekend, We got there and never had a reason to leave. Our host was very accomidating, the home had everthing we needed. The pool , hot tub and both porches were awesome. We all agreed we would come back.

Fun old house

This is an amazing fun house. It’s old and reminds me of my grandmothers home. A lot of great memories. Everything works great, hot water, A/C etc. Overall a great home and property.

Ozark getaway for the 4th of July

We had a great time adventuring the area to see if we would want to move to the area. It's such a beautiful area and we enjoyed the property we stayed at. Beautiful, historical farmhouse as advertised with a huge pool and hot tub we utilized everyday. The owner was prompt and helpful!

Great Getaway and close to Town

This place has so much history. It was only a 20 min drive to Fayetteville. We appreciate the little touches bottled waters and orange juice. Patrica was extremely responsive every time I sent a message. She is a great host.

Clean and quiet

We have stayed at this property since 2013. It was great then and continues to improve. The cleanliness for an older renovated farmhouse is unmatched. Country living at its finest. Close enough to go to Elkins or to Fayetteville for whatever you want to do with a short commute back. I would recommend this house to anyone I know. Thank you Patricia for being a great host! Hidden Gem just off the Pig Trail in Elkins, AR

The place is really great! The photos in the listing do not to the home justice. The beds are super comfy. Plenty of seating in each room. The views are great out all the windows. The air conditioner works great. Dead bolts on all doors..very secure. Minimal traffic on hwy during the day...inside you cannot even hear traffic. Host left a birthday cake for one of us, milk, water and orange juice in fridge, popcorn on counter. Pool is large and clean. Beach towels, box fans, extra heaters..all provided. Beautiful, peaceful and serene.

Vacation in a home filled with charm.

Upon arrival our 12 y/o fell in love with property, as did we. The perfect blend of history, charm and a cozy home feel. My husband and I have talked about moving to Elkins and we all agree that we would purchase this historic home in an instant. Thoughtful decor with an obviously skilled eye for antiques and decorating make this home feel like a home. Beautiful hardwoods all over high ceilings and colors add warmth. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus! Full kitchen stocked with kitchenwares. Simply everything you could need. Plus! Elkins is just a couple of minutes away where there is a very nice Harps! You can enjoy the 112 Drive In and so many other fun things just a few miles away in Fayetteville. Will stay here again!' Thanks Patricia!

Step Back into the Past and Relax

The house and large property lot were very clean. Information about the Historical property was compiled in two three-ring binders. One showed the history of the property which was very interesting, and the other offered places to go and things to do. All were very much appreciated. We stay in VRBO's here and there and this is the only one that was this accommodating, meaning there were paper towels and toilet paper supplied, some cooking spices and cooking oil. Maybe just left over from other guests, I am unsure but it's the little things that you forget sometimes that keep you from having to run to the store. You normally don't have any of these things supplied especially toilet paper and paper towels. We were so supprised there were so many items representing the late 18th century past. You just have to experience to appreciate it. It was a very pleasant experience overall.
