"If you are a female solo traveler, do NOT stay here. I felt so unsafe every minute I was here. Most of the guests seemed to live there. There was someone parked in the parking lot living out of his car all the three days / two nights that I was there. I appreciate the work that ownership seems to be trying to put into renovation but more than redoing the rooms has to be done."

"Moonlight Beach Motel is a delightful, quaint, beach motel, only a 5 minute walk to beautiful Moonlight Beach. And also only minutes to wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. And if you are visiting Scripps Encinitas, it is less than a 10 minute drive. We loved our view of the ocean from our patio. "Negatives: Paid in full via Expedia before arrival and was supposed to only pay daily resort fees at property. Front desk billed me IN FULL again upon arrival, even though I questioned it that had already paid when booked and they credited my card back after checkout. Poor business practice to be double billed and then refund credit card back! "We loved waking up and being able to walk to the beach. And it was a cute little coffee stand for the morning and ice cream for the night across the street! Quick drive up or down the coast and very, very quiet and relaxing. The one thing I think could improve is having a personal coffee machine in each room for us early risers...Because nothing is open before 7 am but 7-eleven coffee. We had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back!"

"The hotel was beautiful, the pool was great to relax by enjoy the sauna and cold plunge. The beach is a short walk down the stairs and is a pretty quiet beach, it does have a lot of rocks tho. The amenities being able to rent a bike, beach chairs and board were a lot of fun. There was lots of good restaurants a short bike ride away. The staff was all very friendly and helpful."
