"We had a long weekend (Fri - Mon) to spend some quiet time away. The cottage had everything we needed. We had a supermarket delivery on the Friday evening to stock up and they had no problem finding the cottage. The accessible room on the ground floor was perfect for my needs, with a wet room style bathroom which made things nice and easy. It was peaceful and quiet and lovely views across the fields."

"Stayed here with my partner for our first getaway together and it truly was the best decision!The location is stunning, they have such a beautiful property set away from hustle and bustle where you can truly unwind. It's also close enough to any major locations in north Devon which again is another selling point.The property itself is well fitted, the bathroom in particular is incredible. That in combination with the effort Maria and Steve go to is what makes this place second to non! From the in depth welcome documentation with anything you could ever need to know, to the hamper on arrival, it's truly special.Overall, I'd recommend this stay to anyone looking to get away for a long weekend, or even longer. We did 4 days. It was enough to see all of the surrounding areas while still having some time to relax."

"We loved it, dogs loved it , garden could be a bit more secure though, but we just stayed out with them. Lovely views and some gorgeous beaches not to far away in the car. Everything you need is there, but a bread knife, was a bit hard to cut an unsliced loaf 🤣"

"Neglected room, stains, not clean hotel generally neglected. Restaurant had run out of lots of menu items, car charger hard to find and no lights so very difficult to operate in the dark"

"Old Barn is in a delightful area with beautiful views. Lovely having use of a pool & hot tub. Children loved the animals & soft play. Having the dog field also great. Think certain areas looking bit tired & could do with new tea towels & bathroom towels. Only gripe was having to strip beds, empty all the bins & do recycling & be out by 9.30 am. We did it - just!!"

"Had a nice stay at the Kentisbury Grange in the retreat lodge. It was very well equipped and set in a lovely location. It did however show signs of age with some of furnishing needing replacement (eg some laminates on furniture peeling off). The cleaning was well below par. Layer of dust across most surfaces, crums in the table channels etc.. Bed linen and kitchen areas were very clean though. Bathroom had some issues and did not meet our definition of luxury because of wear and tear and cleanliness. Toilet brush urgently needs replacing. The shower drain was slow draining and when it was knocked it revealed a mass of black hair. This was somewhat off putting. I don’t want to end on a negative so I do want to praise the service and food at the bar and restaurant. It was a very welcomed on site facility that we enjoyed on number of evenings. Overall, the lodge just needs a little more TLC."

"This is a real gem. The house is super comfortable warm and cosy. The welcome pack is fantastic, and the house is very well equipped. I would say it was like home from home, but I only wish my home was as good. The games room with bar football, table tennis, pool table and large TV with a huge selection of videos would keep kids happy for hours. The owners are super friendly and on hand to answer any questions. I would not hesitate to recommend ford hill cottage. 10/10 if not more."

"Very nice B&B in lovely location . Large room, confortable bed, very quiet. The owners were very nice and accommodating. Would stay again. "
