"Nice, old hotel. Most staff do their best, but like most of aging New York, things break down from time to time, esp. elevators. And they are tiny, so if you are on the 8th floor, best to ride to the top floor then come down. The APA hotels in Japan are famous for this - just a fact to deal with. I was there almost 2 weeks and there was one doorman who was constantly pissed off about something - no smile, no greeting. Looked like he wished you’d go home. But others, especially the cleaning...
