"This is an amazing little hidden gem! We will absolutely be back on our next trip to Fujikawaguchiko. Yes, the hotel is showing its age a little, and I mean only a little, but you’re there for a classic ryokan so it’s part of the experience. The staff are amazing and the hotel has fantastic amenities. They provide a shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station, public and private onsen baths, and an amazing view of Fuji-san from the rooftop deck. On top of that, the kaseki dinner and breakfast are spectacular. The food is excellent, plus we were served in our own private room within the restaurant, with a lovely view of the lake. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! I’ve honestly never left a hotel review before and probably never will again, but this place is worth it. Hoping this draws attention to this hidden gem, to keep it running until we’re able to come back. Too many places like this are bought up by big hotel chains and lose their charm. Arigato gozaimasu, Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato!!!"

"Don’t stay here! They should be taken off Hotels.com! So dirty and gross, and over priced. Bugs everywhere… beds uncomfortable, pillow flat. I say pillow cuz that is all there was. Lamp shades literally stained dirty. Couch dirty. The worst hotel! Run the other direction! Do not rent a room here! "

"I booked mountain view and the room did not disappoint! It was beautiful. However, I am giving 4 stars reviews as the staff weren't enthusiastic to help and the coffee machine is only available from 3pm. It would be helpful to get coffee in the morning. "

"The staff was very unhelpful in difficulties we had around our booking, caused by major transportation disruptions beyond our control in Japan, and rude to my wife when she tried over 5 times to contact and remediate the situation. I would never recommend this as a '5 star, glamp' hotel. Service levels are 1 star. "

"Our stay at Fuji Lake Hotel was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji right from the property - waking up to that view alone made the trip unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, always attentive, friendly, and eager to help. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending comfort with traditional Japanese touches. One of the highlights was the onsen experience—relaxing in the hot springs while taking in the scenery was pure magic. The included breakfast and dinners were exceptional, with an incredible variety of high-quality dishes. The fresh sushi and sashimi were outstanding, and the tempura was perfectly prepared- crispy, light, and delicious. If you’re visiting the Fuji area, this hotel is a must. It’s the perfect combination of relaxation, service, incredible food, and stunning natural beauty. We would absolutely stay here again."

"Stayed here for 3 days. Picked up by Driver from the station. Contacted via tourist information and arrived within 10 minutes. Had room in 3 floor beautiful views and room. We had breakfast included but also light snacks 3-5 and drinks and light food 5-7. Although to be fair food was nice so we just had that every night after a packed filled day around the lake. Right next to the Ropeway recommending getting there as around opening time as gets really busy. Same if you doing the Pagoda which is 30 minutes in the train from Kawaguchiko station. Also walked around the lake which was lovely and chilled. Plenty to eat coffee bars and restaurants nearby. Booked the private bath which was lovely too. Recommend here for more chilled time around the lake and if you prefer something other than a day trip here from Tokyo. Staff friendly and one of my favourite places to stay during our time in Japan"
