"We really enjoyed our stay at this property! Our kids liked the extra loft space and playing shuffleboard. There is a farm and mountain facing the front of the property that is beautiful. It’s close enough to Shenandoah National Park to enjoy the hikes and get back for a soak in the hot tub. Our only critique was the main bed - both my husband and I found it to be uncomfortable (it’s very soft), but that may just be our preference. There were also a lot of flies due to being situated next to a farm, but there’s nothing you can really do about that. "

"My stay at this property was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, I was appalled to find the place in a deplorable state—thick layers of dust, sticky dishes, half-empty beer cans and liquor bottles haphazardly stashed in kitchen cabinets, used Q-tips and old orange peels in bathroom drawers, and napkins scattered across the floor. The sheer neglect and lack of cleanliness were undeniable.The most egregious issue? The entire basement was flooded. Due to severe damage, multiple fans were running in an attempt to mitigate moisture. The host failed to disclose this crucial problem beforehand, only mentioning it a mere ten minutes before check-in—an utterly dishonest and irresponsible act.When I reached out for assistance, the host initially promised a refund and even falsely claimed to have issued it. However, upon following up, they backtracked, offering only a refund of the cleaning fee—an insultingly inadequate resolution—before proceeding to ignore all further communication. Their unresponsiveness and blatant dishonesty exacerbated an already unbearable experience.The neglect extended beyond the interior—outdoor furniture was filthy, and the cold plunge was riddled with insects and accumulated dirt, seemingly untouched for months.I strongly urge anyone considering this property to think twice. A host who disregards transparency, refuses to take responsibility for serious issues like flooding and filth, and blatantly ignores guests is entirely unacceptable. "

"We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely rental home in Grottoes, Virginia for our daughter’s graduation from JMU, and it was absolutely perfect. The home is beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout, and the furniture is so comfortable—it immediately felt like a peaceful retreat.Its location was ideal: close enough to Harrisonburg that we could easily get back and forth for graduation events, but far enough away that we completely avoided the traffic and chaos that comes with a big university celebration weekend. It was the best of both worlds.Everything in the home was spotless, and all the little amenities made our stay especially comfortable. One of my favorite moments was walking the property with my stepmother, admiring the lovely landscaping and the variety of plants around the yard—it’s clearly cared for with love and attention to detail.The surrounding area is so quiet and serene, and we hadn’t realized how close it was to Grand Caverns—what a hidden gem! We’re already hoping to return and spend more time exploring all this area has to offer.Communication with the owner was outstanding—clear, prompt, and polite throughout the entire process.
