The truth is that every feature you would want to be top quality in an outstanding hotel was exactly that during our stay! Friendly, helpful and polite staff made for a relaxing stay. "The hotel is in a lovely location and many of the rooms have a view of the river, which was lovely. However, reception advised us not to open windows as flies come in, which was a shame. However, luckily there was a fan in the room as it was quite warm. The hotel was spotlessly clean but you can tell its an old building. They had quite an old TV in the room and not many Freeview channels but everything else was great, especially having a car park on site. We didn't eat or go to the bar so can't comment on those but would stay here again."

"We stayed for 1 night at the end of September for a birthday. The hotel was stunning. The spa was bliss. We had a room with a hot tub and it was perfect. The hotel was quiet at night and other guests were respectful. The food and drinks were good, a bit on the pricier side. I would definitely stay again."

Kitchen looked a bit tired with chipped worktops and it would be useful to have some drawers in the built in wardrobe areas for smaller items that don't need hanging. restaurant had good selection and food was good. Pool area, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were good."
