"The property is extremely well situated, minutes from Helmsley centre, with great restaurants & bars, the Black Swan & micro brewery were especially welcoming to new visitors & dogs. Amanda generously gave us an earlier check in than advertised & she left a hand written card offering a warm welcome & later check out time, a lovely, personal touch. The property is well equipped, especially the kitchen, has a welcoming, homely feel & is spotlessly clean inside. Due to the time of year, the garden & its furniture could do with a little attention. The wooden furniture looks tired & needs a clean/varnish or replacing. A property so close to the centre of Helmsley with private parking is a find. The advertising information says parking for 2/3 cars. Parking however could be considered a bit awkward & tight. One parking space is flat through a narrow gate, the second is on the slopped driveway. Parking for 2 medium to large cars or 3 very small cars is more realistic. The property is an excellent size, with 2 separate sitting rooms & it’s 3 en-suite double rooms could easily accommodate 3 couples or 2 families with children. The bed linen & towels are excellent quality, everything is impeccably clean but some areas need repairs or replacement. Walls & ceilings have significant cracks & whilst furniture matches the cottages style, it is dated. Overall this property was a find, with everything we needed,comfortable, clean, warm, close to Helmsley, spacious & welcoming "

"Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Room was lovely, warm, wifi, tv, kettle, toiletries in the bathroom, cold water in the fridge.... everything we needed. The towels in the bathroom were great and the thickest I've ever used ! Great location for helmsley market town. Would definitely stay here again if in the area."

"Cosy and the location is the Best."

"We have stayed at many of these places over the years, and this one was a disappointment indeed. Location was great. Had some charm within the place, but it was very run down. Couch and pillows were very uncomfortable. Beds were also very uncomfortable. The cleaners also did not clean it up very well. We were also traveling all day and got there an hour early, and they told us we couldn’t go in. No one was there. It was so very rude and unaccompanied. We left a day early. Going to let my wife give her detailed review later. "

"A great holiday home. We found Holly- Garth to be in a great location both in terms of being close to all amenities in the town, but also well placed for outings to the surrounding neighbourhood.The house was very comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. TV was excellent ( there were 3 of them) and was spotlessly clean . Sadly it wasn’t warm enough to use the lovely patio.The only thing that we found slightly strange was that as there were only two of us we were asked which bedrooms we wanted to use so beds could be made up for us. We found this difficult to do without seeing them. There was no reduction in price for being only two people so it would have been good to either offer a reduction or have made up all the beds so we should choose which rooms to use on arrival as we had paid the same as if there were 8 people.We enjoyed our stay and would happily return"

"Fantastic cottage in a great place. Slight snags were - only 1 shower, no fire lighters, no footstools. The latter 2 are nit picking though, overall we loved the place!"
