The cobblestone parking was slightly challenging, and we weren’t expecting to be in a separate building from the inn, but the room was very comfortable and the large window had a great view which brightened up the space. The location was perfect, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. We appreciated that breakfast was included.

If you are interested in exploring Cornwall, this is a great location to do it from you are a short distance from the north and south coasts as well as the western end of the country. You have access to very good roads. On top of that, you will find yourself in a well appointed room being helped be an excellent staff. We’re vegetarians and we found very good meals.

Little boutique hotel slap bang on the slipway of the tiny bay with gorgeous view from the bar/restaurant. Attentive staff, excellent food both for breakfast and dinner. What a fantastic hotel. I have walked past this hotel on holidays to Cornwall most of my life but this was the first time I actually stayed in a hotel in the local area. I am pleased I picked the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Not only does the hotel seem to beam old world charm, it is the epitome of a classy environment with staff that will do anything to make your stay more comfortable and are a pleasure to deal with. For our 4 nights in Cornwall we stayed at a very quaint Bed and Breakfast in Truro. Centrally located, it was a great place to stay and "wagon wheel" our day trips. From there, relatively speaking (by Texas standards) you can easily drive to many towns, fishing villages, beaches and other sites. A beautiful property. Just a short walk from town. Excellent restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast with our room and did stay for dinner 2 nights as the food was fabulous. Service was perfect - attentive and friendly. Thank you Alverton. Next time in Truro, we will make the Alverton our base.

Our room was adorable with views out over the fields. The surroundings are serene and restful and the breakfast was amazing!

This is a charming hotel with spectacular views over the historical harbor. We had a beautiful view room with an open deck and lovely furnishings. The breakfast was very good and the dining room with views over the harbor where you could watch the sailboats and fishing boats going in and out of the harbor.
