This is a recently renovated house in a can't beat location! Park the car and walk to town! The stroll to Main Street is only three blocks and an easy flat walk past Harris Lake (where you can feed the geese or do a little fishing). You're just a stone's throw from world class shopping, a day at the spa, ice cream shops, great restaurants, or countless outdoor adventures. The wifi will let you stay plugged in, the HD flat screen will let you catch the game, and a giant front porch ready for lounging or dining lets you just sit and enjoy the cool mountain air at 4118 feet above sea level.

The house features five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms: a king bedroom with an en suite bathroom, two queen bedrooms that share a full bath and a queen bedroom and a bedroom with two twins that share the third full bathroom. The large living room has a gas fireplace and an HD flat screen TV. The dining table seats 10. A fully equipped kitchen and huge island wait for you to gather around. The house also has two washer and dryers and TVs in every bedroom. This is the perfect spot from which to launch all of your Highlands adventures!

*So it's not confusing: An old pre-renovation review mentions three bedrooms but the house now has five.

Perfect home and location for low-key entertaining

Laird's home was "home base" for our wedding and was the perfect place to host our small family events throughout the weekend. The layout and seating arrangements were perfect for our group to mingle and get to know each other. Thank you for a great stay!

This spot is really a block 1 and 1/2 from Main Street....even walked to dinner in heals....it’s that close. It was a girls trip, but could be perfect for a family as well with queen beds in all 3 bedrooms. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities! Front porch was very relaxing with greats chairs to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Bedding was super comfortable and we all slept well. We can’t wait to go back!!!

Perfect Highlands destination!

Can’t begin to describe how perfect this house and its location to Main Street was for our family. We had a small wedding at the Old Edwards Inn for our daughter. Our family stayed at this beautiful house and the groom’s family rented the house next door. We spent our days on the fabulous front porch and playing games in the yard. In the evenings, the large living area and kitchen were great for gathering and hanging out. The house was very clean and bright. The owners have done an amazing job of providing everything you could possibly need for your stay in Highlands. We will definitely be back!

Location, location!

We loved our time in Highlands at this wonderful cozy home close to town. I was there with a group of women friends. Plenty of comfortable beds, renovated home with open floor plan and a great fireplace to sit near in the evenings. We walked to Sunset Rock hike and walked to dinner and shopping each day. I loved not moving our car except to drive to Cashiers one day. Great kitchen. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5 are the inside and outside chairs/furniture is light, plastic dining room chairs and not that comfortable.

Perfect family getaway

My husband and I along with our grown children spent a week at this property in Highlands. The house was a close 5 minute walk to Main Street and near Harris Lake. The lay-out was great as there are separate bedroom areas with adjacent baths that you can close off for privacy along with a very nice master bedroom and private bath. The kitchen was well equipped with nice new appliances. The family and dining areas were perfect for gathering to eat, work and play games. A few restaurants that we enjoyed were Paoletti, Four65 Woodfire Bistro, Madison’s in Old Edwards Inn, The Ugly Dog - perfect after hiking. We wish we had gone to Lakeside, but it was fully booked during our stay. All in all a great first visit to Highlands!

Fabulous Highlands Home Right near Main St

What a beautiful home to rent for family and friends! Five spacious bedrooms and baths with such attractive furnishings throughout. Tall ceilings, great spacious living, plenty of seating, perfectly stocked kitchen, and a super easy walk to Main Street. We could come back to this property every single time - 10/10!!

Excellent property. We had two families. 7 people including two children. Plenty of space to cook and hang out. Great front porch to accommodate everyone. Enjoyed walks to town and feeding ducks near by. Quiet and beautiful spot ! Maybe add a few more larger pots for cooking bigger meals. Would love to stay again soon!

This house is in a perfect location. Very easy, nice walk to town and hiking trails. Great house for a large family. We were 8 adults and 2 children. The house is kid friendly. The information packet provided by the house is very helpful.

Beautiful Hideaway

We had our wedding party stay here during our wedding weekend and everything was wonderful! The property was absolutely stunning, clean and perfectly thought out for large groups. Highly recommend staying here for your trip to Highlands!
