"Bedroom had its own air-conditioning unit – absolutely a godsend when temperature outside was over 30 C Got the impression that there was a distinct lack of staff – the staff were very helpful and pleasant and breakfast time was fine but both the reception and evening bar service areas were solo manned even though it was busy. When you have a queue of people waiting to check in, but the receptionist takes guests individually to their room, it seems an unnecessary courtesy."

"Pleasant enough place. Clean room and nice welcome. Room has Aircon, which is great, but it was right over the bed. Welcome nether the less. Navigating to the room, which was on the top floor, is like navigating a maze and not easy with two bags and a suit cover. Hotel does not served food. Ask for recommendations and was told there's a steak restaurant within walking distance. Bit expensivve for my work budget so had a Chinese. Good breakfast and overall good!"

"Very helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Parking was extra (£5- day) The room (deluxe ) was a little tired and the bath chipped. In a very old building it would have been nice to have had a small refrigerator to cool the water provided as it was very hot and, as usual, in the UK not air conditioned. The outside seating area was wonderful and cool in the evening. The breakfast was great"

"Breakfast was very good. A bit more communication when facilities such as areas of parking/swimming pool are unavailable would be appreciated. The swimming pool was closed I suspect for repair no apology and an area of car park nearest reception was closed off for an evening function Both unavoidable but no apology for the inconvenience caused."

"The staff are lovely, and the property and gardens are beautiful (although they’re not quite as new or updated as the photos make it seem). It’s more of a charming quiet calm hotel in the countryside. My only issue was that the carpet had tons of large stains on it, which was rather gross and I’d expect a hotel to have a vacuum cleaner that can take stains out of the carpet. My second issue was there was no chair or desk in the room. I didn’t care that the tv only had 4 channels- all the other country side hotels in England I went to had limited television. But the lounge area had a tv so that’s what mattered. It was clean and I’d definitely go again. I didn’t use the restaurant and I was checked in/out during regular business hours only so cannot comment on that."
