"We stayed in the apartment for two months in the autumn. Neckarsteinach is a wonderful location, and you can walk into the forest in five minutes from the front door. It wasn't the weather for BBQs but the view from the terrace is amazing. The apartment is very well set up - warm, well appointed, with a separate small kitchen, well equipped. Alexis is a great host, helpful when needed but not at all intrusive - perfect for a longer stay. It's ten minutes walk to the station for regular trains to Heidelberg or you can cycle (on bike paths) to Heidelberg in 45 minutes.Highly recommended. "

"I took my family for a European vacation and we chose this place due to its close proximity to Heidelberg. This lovely old home is located in the old town area with close access to a bakery and a couple great restaurants. It’s a nice quiet area where we enjoyed going for walks by the river which is very close. There was parking down the road if you are driving and is located right by a bus stop as well.The host was very responsive and friendly.I would stay here again."

"Excellent hosts and large apartment in a pleasant town. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped and there are some games for children. We were able to charge our EV (reasonable rate) in the parking under the building. There is a play park just around the corner and a supermarket within a 5 min walk. The railway station (direct line to Heidelberg) is a short (10 min) walk. There are lots of nice walks in the Neckar river area. There is no elevator to the apartment if that is needed.Great stay."

"Excellent property - ideal for a quiet village life but near enough to Heidelberg (30 mins by car) to enjoy this beautiful city. The only thing better than the property are the hosts, Freda and Gunnar. Friendly, extremely helpful and kind - you could not wish for better hosts!"

"We were visiting our grown daughter, who was working in Germany, and this property made a perfect setting for a long weekend in the Neckar Valley region. The place is perched on a hill with wonderful views, but still walkable to the restaurants in the quaint town of Neckarsteinach. It’s about a 20 minute drive to Heidelberg, where we spent a day - although there are local trains and buses that can take you there as well. Parking places are available below the property, and you walk up a series of steps to the apartment. Host Ruth was in touch well before we arrived and sent photos and information about the area. It’s clear she’s very proud of the town and surrounding area. Great communication and easy check in. The only tricky part was finding the place via Google Maps. Ask Ruth for directions. The property itself is clean, and they even had several bottles of local Schnapps to sample in the kitchen. Great touch. There is one full bathroom and one half bathroom. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the nearby hiking paths to four separate castles - one still occupied, the others in ruins that you can explore. We had fun climbing the towers of each and imagining life in ancient times. One trail connects the four castles, and there are no crowds. Truly a hidden gem. Would recommend the restaurant Zum Schiff in the town, too. All in all, a great alternative to staying in busy Heidelberg. Loved the peace and quiet of Neckarsteinach. "

"Perfect! We couldn't ask for a better vacation home to stay in while touring around with our family. Karen made everything very welcoming. The caretakers, Andreas and Tina, were always available if we needed something. The vacation home is very large and has everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. The area was very peaceful and quiet and we took advantage of touring the local towns within this region (Eberbach and Hirschhorn) and Heidelberg is only a short distance away, as well. We truly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay here again in the future. "
