Walk the few steps to the beach and be enchanted by the endless expanse of the Wadden Sea. Not far from the lock at Højer, you can visit the exhibition in the old fisherman's house from around 1870 to learn how the fishermen at Lake Rudbøl and along the Vidå once lived and worked. Climb the disused water tower Højer and enjoy an excellent view over the marshland and the sea. The area around Højer is also ideal for hiking or cycling. There are also good opportunities for fishing along the coast or in the lakes and streams in the area.
