"Everything went really well. The kiosk that they want you to check in at, you have to pay a tax and it didn’t take my debit card for some reason. You needed a card with a PIN. We tried 3 different people on our party, and none of our cards worked. So we were scrambling trying to find the tax money in yen. It wasn’t expensive, I just wasn’t prepared for it. I hadn’t gone to an ATM to get more yen."

"My family of 6 stayed here for 5 days, 4 nights. The hotel is in a super convenient location. There is a path that connects the hotel directly to the train station. So clean and spacious. Amazing skin care/face wash/shampoo/conditioners provided. The hotel smells amazing. Rooftop access gives beautiful views of Kyoto. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel staff were very helpful and helped us ship our luggages from here to the next hotel in Osaka! Cannot praise this hotel enough."

"Didn’t know it was a ‘love hotel’ when I ordered but still had fun. The staff are very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was fair, instant coffee/tea in the room available. Kettle was very useful as we had ramen every night. You have to talk with Google Translate to the receptionist. The strangest part was the door system: to go in or out you have to call the reception, which wasn’t very convenient. The window was very small and you cannot fully open it. Otherwise, excellent experience. The room is huge, bathtub and shower is in a giant separate room ( not sure why). "

Quiet, fresh and clean, very comfortable, super convenient (across from bus and train station) and lovely surroundings (didn’t feel like a concrete jungle). Starbucks and convenience store right beside us. Of all the places we visited in Kyoto during our tours we continually agreed that this hotel made for the best home base. "We enjoyed our one night in this Ryokan. It was fun and authentic. There was a certian peace and relaxed mode that it put us on. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens). The room #24 was spacious, clean, and well kept. Yes, we wore the provided pajamas/yukata. The shower had great pressure and was also spacious. Friendly staff and food at the restaurant was yummy. The gardens were beautiful traditional Japanese gardens. As always, loved the toilet/bidet. Loved this spot!"
