"Small but very attractive and well equipped. Very pleasant, helpful owners who have a charming woodland garden. Plenty of places to visit locallyand the local pubs, The Star, The Swan and the eccentric Nelson's Head are all very friendly and provide very good meals."

"An absolutely wonderful cottage in fantastic grounds. A real country getaway. We enjoyed a lovely winter pre-Christmas break here and it was a great base from which to explore North Norfolk and the coast. The grounds of the estate in which the cottage sits are beautiful, with lots of walks without getting in the car. The cottage is so cosy and inviting that you don’t need to leave if you don’t want to. The cottage is full of old style charm but with all the modern fixtures and fittings you could...

"This cottage was the absolute perfect get-away for a long weekend with family and friends. The house is stocked with everything you could ever need to enjoy your stay (blankets and pillows for comfort, oil, salt, pepper, coffee, pots and pans etc. in the kitchen). The delicious wine left by the owners was much appreciated. The location is perfect for walking into town on pedestrian only country paths making ti safe for kids and dogs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for fresh air and a...

"Sandy Shores is a nice relaxing place to stay. Plenty of room, bathroom walk in shower good. Enclosed rear garden with table and chairs just right to sit and relax in the morning or after a day roaming. Bus stop a few minutes away to Cromer onwards to Sheringham, can use bus pass. Buses don't run very late so look at timetable. Christine and Dave have a lovely place which feels cosy and welcoming when you arrive. Would recommend highly. In fact will probably return."

"We had a lovely week at California Halt. The weather was great, so we made full use of the beach up the road. The location of the cottage was ideal and it was very clean. The owners had thought of every detail to make sure we had everything we needed."

"The food and drinks are excellent especially the breakfasts. Unfortunately the rooms are being refurbished over time and ours was particularly tired with a part of the window structure missing. Overall the hotel is in an ideal place for a stay in Norwich and I would use it again!"
"No information on WiFi in room, but it was available.
Staff pleasant and room clean. Hotel a little tired in places.
Breakfast expensive so ate out.
Noisy building work going on, could maybe have offered some sort of compensation, drink or breakfast perhaps.
Also water in room, but unclear if this was complimentary or chargeable.
Excellent location"
"The room key I had opened the door to another room! I stayed in room 212, and after a very long day I accidentally went to room 202 and opened up the door and entered the wrong room!
After a moment or two of seeing the room wasn't presented correctly, the actual guest of room 202 opened the door and walked into the room whilst I was standing there. It was just a good job I wasn't in the shower, on the loo or getting dressed.
As you can imagine, the other guest was quite shocked, as was I. I showed him how my key fit his door and I hadn't broken in.
It appears that the room key is actually a master room key, so can fit any door and the same key lock for outside/late night access.
No one came to the room to find out if I was OK, or needed anything.
I'd not stay there again.
It's a shame, as back in the day this must have been quite a lovely hotel, but now has been left in need of modernisation. Yes, the cost per room was quite competitive, but that isn't the point. Safety of guests should always be paramount of importance."
"The spa was inviting and the staff very good. Made to feel comfortable and the treatment was great. The pool area was okay and while we did enjoy it we just feel it lacked an intimate atmosphere as was a gym club. Definitely could have done with either drinks service for guests or a bar. However we enjoyed our stay and would go again "
