The property surrounding is well maintained and beautiful. The hotel, restaurant, and room are cozy and welcoming. I even joked that if I ever decide to get married, I want it to be here."

"We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. The location was perfect for a day trip to nearby Oban, which should not be missed, particularly for the seafood and Oban Distillery tour. Parts of the hotel could do with some tlc, but the breakfast room, dining room and bar area were lovely and the food was great. We liked the gardens with the river at the bottom. "Very nice location, on the water near The Corran ferry which you can access to go to restaurants across the loch. Large parking lot, very comfortable common areas to include a large living room/lounge area, kitchen and outdoor space. The rooms are quite small but sufficient if only staying 1-2 nights. The shower was very small so if you are tall or large, you may have an issue. We enjoyed our stay here."

"Good sized car park for amount of rooms. Arrived to allsorts of treats in the fridge which were topped up each day which was a nice bonus. When I contacted owner becuase the cleaner had forgotten to put bin liner in the bin after cleaning he was very quick to respond and had came to sort it as soon as he could. Loved the size of the rooms and was very clean. You do have to drive out to get to anything though as there isn't anywhere to eat/shop nearby."
