"We were a group of nature lovers who were using this as a three night stay to get used to the temperature and time change upon arrival in Borneo. Loved the grounds and snorkeling right from the beach. Fantastic nature center staffed by several biologists. The food options were a bit pricey but we were expecting that. The grounds were very birdy and we found two Borean Pit Vipers. The mangrove tour was fantastic. Room is very good quality for the price."

"Great place with nice rooms and beautiful view (both to Mt Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu). Standard Malaysian breakfast and decent lunch and dinner menu. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room (104) was very good although there are a few ants around (so make sure not to leave food around). Bed, shower and toilet were nice and clean. Internet worked quite well (not guaranteed in this area). Our best place in Sabah so far (out of 6 good hotels)."

"The only recommendation would be for the Japanese restaurant to use less garlic when making the fried rice. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet offered a large variety of choices-fresh and delicious. We recommend a stay in an ocean view suite for couples who plan to visit. It offered an outdoor soak tub to allow one to watch the sun set into the sea. Little things made the differences at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria: • cold face towel when sitting by the pool • family friendly pools and activities for those travelling with little munchkins • accessibility friendly • located right on the sandy beach • multiple pillow options - AMAZING! • laundry service at an amazing price • a thank-you note from the room attendants sealed the deal on the day of check-out Service was excellent from the moment we arrived to the sad moment when we had to leave. Looking forward to another stay soon!!!"
