"Great place with nice rooms and beautiful view (both to Mt Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu). Standard Malaysian breakfast and decent lunch and dinner menu. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room (104) was very good although there are a few ants around (so make sure not to leave food around). Bed, shower and toilet were nice and clean. Internet worked quite well (not guaranteed in this area). Our best place in Sabah so far (out of 6 good hotels)."

It is a clean tidy place with very attentive staff. The food was good and the rooms were comfortable. We used it as a base for our two week stay in Sabah and really enjoyed our stay there. The drive up and down the hill is interesting. It is a windy road and you have to watch out for the local water buffalo's (which are nowhere near as aggressive as the ones in Australia). If there is one thing to highlight about Bunga Raya, that's the staff: they were all really well trained, helpful and friendly - from this perspective, one of the best experiences we ever had. The place was amazing. We had a really good time there. It's Maldives on a budget. Can't beat the rooms right above the ocean with tons of fishes and corals in your backyard. They could use a few more shuttles between their sister resort and town. The staff is very friendly. Overall a great experience. One complaint we had was that the Chinese restaurant served us raw chicken. My young kids ate them. Luckily they are ok, otherwise would have been quite serious.
