"We got off to a rocky start as we arrived late ( we let them know ahead of time) and no one told us the AC costs 5 extra euro a day so the remote for the AC was not left in the room. The screenless windows and doors onto otherwise lovely balconies let in an army of starving mosquitos and every noise: the crying baby next door, the plane that seemed to be landing on the roof, a pack of dogs, roosters and more. "We had a fantastic stay at The Island. The hotel staff were attentive and courteous, going out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be. The beach was excellent, as were the different pool areas within the hotel, offering something for everyone. Breakfast was also very good, although we did not eat at the hotel during the evening, due to the various restaurants available close by. "
