"The food and staff are absolutely wonderful. The room was beautiful with a canopy bed and a sitting area which was a welcoming area to relax after a day of sightseeing. It's also very well positioned for day adventures to the coast and York. The management team were also very visible for information and they even arranged my laundry. "Lovely hotel though a bit like a rabbit warren inside but a great mix of old and new. The best part is the staff - they are just SO friendly, helpful but very professional. On our first evening, as we sat in the lounge, we were approached by an elderly gentleman who enquired how long we were staying and where we had come from etc. We asked him how long had he been staying there and as he walked off he replied "98 years". It turned out he was 98 year old Lord Gisborough! The hotel is owned by Lord Gisborough and his family. The food was excellently prepared and everywhere was very clean."

"Situated in a lovely village where we went out to eat but the food there looks very good also. We went to the bar and played pool in the games room and also used there gym. Bed was comfortable and even got biscuits in the room so would say this is definitely value for money! "
