Host was welcoming and responsive. Good room for guests in bedrooms downstairs. Easy walk to the beach! Nice views outside- can see the ocean a bit. Not a luxury place but clean, and peaceful in late December. Also very accessible to all the fun in Duck. We enjoyed placing shuffle board there and if you enjoy tennis, and a nice indoor hot tub, you will really like that benefit there. Unusual to find those amenities. Kids will enjoy it!
We stayed with another family and the bunk room was perfect for the kids while parents still had their own spaces! We loved the short walk to the beach plus all the amenities and the beautiful pool!! We will definitely be staying again!
My family spent a week at the house in Duck and it could not have been better—very short walk to the pool and beach, tons of things for the kids to do, and a nice walk to the boardwalk. We will return!
Nice condo with plenty of room for our group of 5 adults. Beach & pool are very close walks (pool 5 minutes & beach 8-10). Sound side & town of Duck are less than a 5 minute drive. Nice community with many activities available We really enjoyed our week!
I have been coming to Duck since 1998. It has always been my home away from home. David is such an amazing host and always answers when something is needed. Barrier island is a nice resort because it has everything! Love the shops along the boardwalk! The weather wasn’t the best but my husband and I still had a lovely time! We will be back in June and can’t wait!
One building away from the non-crowded beach. Large pool and outdoor activities (e.g. outdoor ping-pong, giant chess, cornhole) at the location.
As with most of the OBX, there are tons of activities to explore ... most without leaving Duck and Corolla. Went parasailing (Duck Parasail) and rented jet skis (North Beach Watersports). Took in a tour of the wild horses (Corolla Outdoor Adventures) and the zipline park (Corolla Adventure Park). And my kids got a lot of use out of the 8-day vacation pass from H2OBX Waterpark.
Between the beach, pool, activities and restuarants we were barely inside the condo.
Was a nice space for small family. Unfortunately, the indoor pool is not open or ready, and there is no game room available due to that construction. The complex is dated, and tennis courts are old but ok. I imagine this is a nice place if you spend all your time outside on the beach, but for off-season, it is not a great space for indoor time. Needs a bit of maintenance (screen door, shower door, lightbulbs in kitchen) but overall good space.
We had a wonderful time. The beach was a quick and easy walk (maybe 5 min), and the walk to the Duck boardwalk was slightly further but pretty easy as well...maybe 10-15 min. The beach was beautiful, and the sunsets over the sound were stunning. There is a very nice, huge outdoor pool, a tennis court right outside of the unit which families used at dusk to play catch and other activities, a sand volleyball court, shuffleboard, ping-pong, a soccer field, and more I probably didn't notice (whatever sports gear you bring you'll probably find a way to use it although a few things are provided). The newly renovated club house has an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, and game room with TVs and places to lounge. The fact that sheets and bath towels were supplied in this unit was very nice, as many places in OBX don't provide those. Some of the pillow shams and blankets in the bedrooms appeared stained... hopefully they'll be switched out for next season. The internet wasn't great, but David promptly got that resolved for us. Overall we recommend this place because it's so family-friendly and there are endless ways to keep everyone entertained.
The pictures did not do this property justice. We stayed in the condo with our two kids, ages 10 and 11. We had more than enough space with the two levels and the kids were thrilled to have a floor all to themselves with their own bedrooms. David was very responsive, with great recommendations for local restaurants and activities, and check-in/check-out were super simple. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed to make meals, and the bathrooms were recently updated. The property had so many great amenities and the new Rec center was a big hit with the kids. On a cooler day outside we went in there for the sauna, pool, hot tub, and Rec room games like ping pong and pool. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Outside, the beach was right there, but we also had the option of the outdoor pool, shuffleboard, tennis, etc. For local activities that we took part in, we were just 25 mins from the wild horse tours in Corolla, 15 mins from mini golf/go-karts, 30 mins from Jeanette’s pier, and 20 mins from the sand dunes where the kids went sledding. Duck was super friendly and had amazing restaurants and lots of great treats (donuts!). We loved walking the boardwalk and popping in and out of different stores. I highly recommend Duck over other towns in Outer Banks because of the village feel. You can rent bikes or a golf cart for the week and get everywhere you need to go. We are already planning our next trip back. This was a great, mellow time of year to come.

Late season review
The unit is on the eastern side of the complex behind the tennis courts. You walk up an outside flight of wooden steps to get to the unit. Once inside, the 1st floor has the foyer, laundry room, bed room with 2 bunk beds, bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom. A set of stairs takes you to an open concept living room, dining area and kitchen. From the living room there's a sliding glass door leading to balcony with a distant view of the ocean. The balcony is close enough to faintly hear the waves. The screen door needed some attention. On this 2nd floor is a master bedroom with king-size bed and bathroom. General cleanliness was ok. Though I would personally find another cleaning company. The bathrooms are dated and show their age. The owner said he has recent plans to upgrade the bathrooms. The kitchen appliances and decor are dated and need some upkeep addressed. This was a mid-September booking. You should expect to see some freshening up needed like painting. The location of the property is pretty good. It was about 5-10 minutes to walk to the beach. The sunrise is truly spectacular. The boardwalk in Duck is on Currituck Sound. It's (boardwalk) just up the street from the main entrance to Barrier Island Station. The sunsets there are beautiful. Duck, NC is such a neat little town. This property is in a good location to access all that Duck has to offer. Price wise, I think the property is worth it.
