"Everything outside and inside the structure is a mess; dirty, smelly, with stuff piled up everywhere. We were so "lucky" to have the best room; a room that smelled of cat's urine. The fan was broken, so the air conditioning and the main light didn't work. The pillow were smelly. Breakfast is poor, if you have the chance to have it. Nice cabin, not in La Fortuna itself...
"The cabin was in a pretty location on the side of a small lake — but the location doesn't match that on VRBO which states it's in La Fortuna town. It's actually several miles out of town, which was a problem for us since we didn't have a rental car and there's no public transport serving the area. The owner offered us a lift into La Fortuna on our first day, but beyond that we had to keep booking Ubers which also were quite unreliable. The cabin was nice but could do with a bit of upkeep — there were a lot of ants/termites that appeared in our kitchen and a bad smell came up through the drain in the bathroom. It's also worth noting that despite the tranquil pictures the property is next to a busy road and you can hear the traffic throughout the night."
