"This resort really is in a beautiful location. There is a terrific beach, though I did not realize that you cannot swim in the ocean here (this is for basically the entire area). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The pools were gorgeous and the whole area was family friendly. The entertainment was only okay. For instance, we woke up to do beach yoga at 7am and the instructor never showed up, and one the evening shows were low budget with mediocre talent. If entertainment is important to you, I would choose a different place. Also, with a couple of exceptions and one amazing exception, the food was lackluster at best. First, the amazing exception, Bon Vivant, the French Restaurant, was spectacular. Expertly crafted meals with perfect execution in flavorful, colorful and creative dishes for every course! Efrain was a kind waiter and made our anniversary feel special. Thank you. Also, the burgers at the Station and the tacos in the adult area were great. The breakfast buffet at La Plaza was acceptable and well within our expectations. Every other dinner was a disappointment. Our first night at the Italian restaurant the meals were just… off. My plate was bland and the risotto looked and tasted gross. My wife barely touched her seafood pasta which was poorly seasoned and seemed just sort of blah. The steakhouse was the same. My Ribeye was fine but the potatos looked like there leftover from the buffet and my wifes skirt steak was bland and tough."
