"This hotel is in dire need of repair. Our stay was not as advertised. The bedside lights were just bare (very bright!) bulb’s with no lampshades and this was not by design. We were visiting with a very large group and I visited other rooms, no other room has bare glaringly bright bulbs at sides of the beds. The bath had black mold round it. The mirrors were stained and marked. The hotel is next to a busy road that feeds the motorway, and the sound of the traffic was very loud in our room because the windows had old rotted frames. The furniture was chipped and peeling. The room was not equipped with an iron and ironing board, and you have to request these from reception. The on tap beers in the bar kept running out and there was no replacement barrels.
The breakfast buffet, had run out of pasties, fruit and other things when we arrived at 8:30. We had to go find a member of staff to request it be replenished.
The breakfast menu gives the option of omelette or kippers made to order, but no one was working behind the breakfast food counter.
I did complain about all of the above at the reception desk, but I was just told it would reported to management and that was the only response I got.
The only positive I have, is that the staff are very friendly and there is plenty of parking other than that unfortunately I can’t say anything else positive.
I will not stop be stopping at this hotel again and I would not recommend it others."
