"Good location , £11 parking for hotel guests. Fantastic staff, very helpful "

"Parking was easy and plenty off room , we also got in our room early which was a bonus as we were at a wedding there . Had a lovely wedding but only down side very limited hot drinks in the room and a biscuit would have been a nice touch. Also the bar was very expensive for alcohol drinks and some people with us who were driving got charged £12 for two large cokes . "

"We had a great one night stay at the Hex hotel before visiting the zoo. The hotel was immaculate and the rooms were well thought out for families."

"Sadly, we stayed on the wrong day. We arrived after a six hour drive to find out there was an eighties night on in the marquee about 20 steps from our room. It went on until after midnight. The music I could have coped with but the Dj and accompanying karaoke sounded like they were in our room, completely unnecessarily. Then the guests were in and out of the front entrance door next to our room until 4am. Not exactly the restful night I hoped for especially for our six hour drive the following day. We ate in the restaurant which was good and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. I would possibly stay again before checking there was no function on as the room represented good value for money."

"Ideal location with marvellous views of the cathedral. Parking easy. The hotel itself tired and reminiscent of previous faded 1980s glories. Needs refurbishment. The staff though truly excellent and that was a redeeming feature"
