We stayed here for 5 nights. We enjoyed it so much that we tried to extend our stay, however, the camp was already booked. We were able to have family visit us and just relax. It will be our new place to stay when we return ‘home’.
If you’re looking to get away and spend some relaxing time in a quaint little adorable cabin right on the river, this place is for you. Fully equipped inside and out with all the amenities you would need or want. A large covered deck on the water to sit and enjoy the view or maybe you want to drop a line if you like fishing. The area below the raised cabin is very neat with a bar, sink, and smart tv. Our host was very helpful and check-in and out was a breeze. The next door neighbor was very welcoming and looks out for the neighborhood. We will be going back very soon !!
If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, this is the perfect spot. We stayed for 4 days, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The location strikes the ideal balance—away from it all yet not completely isolated. The cabin is nestled by the river, offering serene views and the calming sounds of nature. Sitting on the deck with a book and a cup of coffee while listening to the wind, river splashes, and birdsong was a truly magical experience.
The cabin itself was cozy and perfect for my wife and me. We loved making breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed dining at local gems like Sarita's. Even with some rain during our stay, we were perfectly content. Renting an SUV was a great choice for navigating the area, especially with rising water levels.
One of the unexpected highlights was our neighbor, Byron. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, taking the time to introduce himself and give us helpful tips. His friendliness made us feel right at home, as did Bubba, the charming local rooster who served as our morning alarm clock.
Our hosts, Lane and Blake, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They were always quick to respond to any questions and even helped with some accommodations, which made a big difference.
If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing escape where you can unwind and connect with nature, this is the place. We left feeling refreshed and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!
A simple little cabin on the waterfront. The host communicates very well and has a good relationship with the neighbor, Mr. Byron who also offered to help in any way he could to make your stay enjoyable. We enjoyed the outdoor space especially.
Great place for a family weekend away from our normal busy life. Less than 10 minutes from places to order good food. We recommend the Swamp burger from Boondocks! Going home actually refreshed and relaxed after a family weekend is always a win!
We wanted a little get away close to home, where we could bring our grandkids so they could fish. We stayed for 4 nights and the kids were up and ready to fish off the dock every morning. We caught 6 catfish and a few brim which we cleaned and cooked for supper one night. The kids were funny when we told them we were eating the fish we had caught, my grand daughter swore it was not the same fish because they weren't gray and brown we I cooked them. They were inside so didn't see when their PawPaw was cleaning the fish. Lots of first for our grandkids, they swam in the river and even went kayaking. Lots of great memories made with our family and we can't wait to go back in the future. We met the next door neighbor Byron on our first day, and he was very welcoming and full of information and great tips for fishing. Lane & Blake were great host, answering questions before I even booked the camp and once we were booked were quick to respond with any other questions we may have had. The camp was perfect and had everything we could possibly need. I had brought beach towels and never took them out of the bag because the our host provided those as well. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.Bridgett G.
Dirty and not well maintained. The kayaks advertised on the listing did not work as they had holes in then or had water in them that wouldnt drain. The water smelled like sewer. There was dog hair and dead bugs everywhere. It was not very secluded at all. I think the very very long driveway to get to the "cabin" should be mentioned on the listing as that was really inconvenient. All of the run down trailers and houses were such a sight to see everytime we drove the long drive way. It was also so bright in the bedrooms it the morning because there's no curtains, just some dirty blinds. Every dish was dirty or sticky so i didn't feel comfortable making any kind of food while i was there. There was a huge mold spot on the ceiling, and quite a lot of soft spots throughout the cabin floors. Left a day early because it was such an unpleasant experience. I messaged them about leaving a day early and why, i never even got an apology, i was hoping to get a refund for the last night i was supposed to stay but that never happened either. So pretty much a waste of money and my vacation time.
