"The suite was truly excellent, the view was beautiful way up above huge trees. The pool was super. I found a lot of peace in this elegant, beautiful 80’s style hotel where the rooms were still big and spacious. A lot of people rate the breakfast highly. It was quite nice but could have had more options. The staff could also be more attentive and polite. It’s the rooms and the view that were beautiful."

Nice town, nice hotel. Only a little noise from the street, but is on a quiet side of town. Beds were nice, bathrooms were clean. Overall a good bargain.

10/10 Excellent
The building is impressive with its great lobby (of perhaps faded art deco glamour) of another era. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is not modern and fancy, but clean and functional. Room was very comfortable. Kiel is spread out and the hotel is a bit far to walk with luggage, as I discovered, but a straight shot to train station and downtown. The terrace in front of lobby was a nice place to sit to enjoy the breezes and chill (it's Kiel!), at least until smokers claim it as their...

10/10 Excellent
The Berliner Hof was in an excellent location, one block from the Hauptbahnhof and central bus station, with many restaurants nearby. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I had to take a bus to the Hamburg airport at 5AM, well before the dining room was open for breakfast. However, the evening before they asked if I would like to take a lunch box the next morning, and I said two pieces of bread and a piece of cheese and a bottle of water would be fine. When I check out the...
