"Our family of nine spent a week here and everyone was enchanted by the gorgeous setting and unusual home. The grounds were breathtaking with the river running behind the house and lots of places to enjoy the outdoors. We saw a family of foxes one night and we enjoyed the fireflies in the evenings. We slept with the windows open and the sound of the river running was beautiful. The house itself was unusual with the features of the ancient mill built into the home. The 5 bedrooms, each with a private bath were perfect for a large family. It was very clean and updated and the bedrooms were comfortable. Our hosts and the property manager were so helpful and they even left us a huge basket of fresh fruit. Our only challenges were the spotty WiFi (likely due to the location and the 9 people trying to use it), and the very American desire for a clothes dryer. We found the kitchen, while nicely equipped, a little difficult to use to prepare large meals, but we made it work. Overall, the home is like no place we have been before and it made our trip unforgettable!"

"An incredible modern property. The infinity pool was amazing. The pool a little cold, but this is due to the time of year. Beautiful location such incredible scenery. The host tried to be as helpful as possible. They were happy to lend us a heater to warm up the apartment."

"Lovely stay, came by train, without a car which we thought might be a bit of a gamble, but worked perfectly. Marco and Claudio were great and helpful at all times. Train service to lucca and pisa was great shops in the town all we needed. Lazy days by the pool and some trips out. Nicely rested! "

"The most immediately striking thing about the property is the garden - spectacular views of the mountains and a large and stylish swimming pool. But the house is also great, with large rooms and, a well-equipped kitchen. Stefano was a helpful, responsive and friendly host."

"Great courteous genuine host. Wonderful village atmosphere to live with kids. More of a farm experience. Few downside worth to mention 1. Far away from locality with steep hill to get there and road condition is very poor easily damage car underbody if one is not careful. 2. Due to that, once you are there you are pretty much locked and spend most of the time in n and around property as nothing else is nearby. 3. There are few insects even scorpions you could eventually find in the room which could make this place not suitable for small kids. "

"The property is lovely, very clean and comfortable. The views from the terrace of the surrounding mountains are superb, and the area is very quiet. We booked the "Cook at home" experience and I have to say it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The pool is well maintained and a good size, but could maybe benefit from some umbrellas/shade. Overall we had a fantastic week here and would definitely book again!"

"We had a relaxing,memorable stay enjoying the well-equipped villa which is in a wonderful location for breathtaking views and exploring hilltop villages, local lakes and Lucca. We had everything we needed and for the few food items we wanted there are plenty of local shops a short drive away or the very helpful and friendly bar/shop in Casciana-also great for a beer/wine after a walk/day out. Communication with Francesca was excellent before and during our stay. There are plenty of local walks from the villa, quite a lot of hills involved, however, a car is essential for exploring further afield. We came away feeling totally relaxed and refreshed having explored what must be some of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany. Thank you and we hope to be back."
