"Hotel was conveniently located about 10-15 min walking to nearest bus stop or cable car. 1 king bed room we stayed had a good size bedroom and bathroom for two people. Location of the AC in the bedroom bothered us since it was installed above the bed with fans pointing towards the bed and it was not possible to redirect the orientation of the fans. We had to run it before bedtime to air the room and then turn it off since it was too loud and cold but then room may get little stuffy. They charge $20 amenities fee which we never heard of in any of our stays in CA. This included breakfast which had tea, coffee and croissants and muffins which were not very fresh but edible. We rather have breakfast not included and not pay for it and choose what to eat ourselves rather than eating the same thing every morning. Staff was very nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay. "

"Pet friendly. Good restaurant. Beautiful area. The hotel has walking trails nearby. Great staff. The hotel property is old and needs updating. It’s too dated to be a Hilton. The company needs to update the rooms. "

"Got this room for my sister-in-law. Not only did she not feel safe there but the room was dilapidated- the walls had extreme levels of peeling paint and the sheets were heavily stained. She didn’t stay the night and I will be contesting the charges. "

"This hotel is central to everywhere we want to go in SF! Plus, we feel safe in this neighbourhood. We love the atmosphere at Union Square, and BART is close by for our trips out to the suburbs. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, and our room requests were met 100%. We have stayed at the Handlery many times over the years, and will stay here again! Thank you!"

"If you're searching for a sleek, modern hotel, this isn't it — but if you appreciate old-world character, you might feel right at home. We first stayed here about 10 years ago and loved it. Returning recently, I think the place will soon need a refresh. The beds were comfortable, the staff were welcoming, and you can actually open the windows for fresh air. Top of the Mark is a must at sunset, the food there is amazing. One small gripe: the complimentary morning coffee in the lobby is a nice touch, but there was no tea option. Worth knowing if you're a tea drinker. Overall, a pleasant stay."

"Well appointed rooms and very clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast. Good location right at Fisherman's Wharf. Views were limited, but the rooms were light and airy."
