"Great location, room wasn't as advertised in pictures hotel staff did not offer to let us switch to a different room"

"The location of this hotel was excellent, close to most major sites and with restaurants and stores nearby. The room was relatively clean but in need of updating and upkeep. The mattress was uncomfortable and seemed old because it had springs. The sheets, pillows and blanket were not good quality. Overall the hotel was adequate but hasn’t been maintained well. The furniture in the lobby was worn and uncomfortable. But the location made it very convenient."

"All the major characteristics were excellent or very good. Restaurant was especially convenient and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and welcoming, especially my maid who made a point of cleaning my room during the hour I spent at breakfast. And, you can’t beat the midtown Manhattan location, particularly if you’re traveling by train."

"This is an older property that is need of renovations. Breakfast was great as was the fitness center. What merits this low rating however is the fact that it was freezing and the hotel did not provide heat. As an older building, they only supply heat during certain times of the year. To me, that is not acceptable. I would never stay here again. I only stayed here because my reservation at a much nicer Hilton property was messed up and they were fully booked and recommended this property. I should have declined given the reviews. Lesson learned. "

"Was chaotic while checking in. The hotel definitely is not prepared to handle large crowds and the elevator system takes forever for a large number of requests. The rooms are good for NYC standards and the bar was nice."

"Perfect location for proximity to Broadway theatres! Went on re-opening day and there was a back-up during check-in (staff was new to the system). I am the type of person to notice details and the remodel seems surface level, I obviously didn't see the building when they began so I can't say how much has been done. In the, quite small, bathroom, there was no fan, the tub shower had an un-even floor surface, the drain didn't really work all that well and the water pressure, while adjustable, went from a heavy trickle to a mid-pressure spray. Sink was nice with some room to put your things around it and there was a shelf. Lighting in the bathroom was mid - only light was from the mirror. The green paint throughout the room wasn't perfect (looked like a lot of layers). The room was sparkling clean, the new bed was comfortable, night stands had good plug options, carpet was nice, and towels were fluffy. We were on the 25th floor and the noise from the area was still noticeable. For NYC, I guess the room size was ok, it did feel small, and if you had multiple large luggages it will be tight - there is storage space under the bed for a suitcase on either side. The TV is on an awkward wall next to the bed vs at the foot of the bed - but we didn't watch TV. The two elevators were slow to get to you either in the lobby or at your floor. It seemed like there were more elevators available but they weren't working at the time. The cafe was nice. After all that, I would stay here again."
