"The property was in a good location for us and our needs, close to Bayswater and queensway tube station. Close to Hyde park and eating areas. Very walkable location."

"The lady at the reception desk (Ripa was her name I think) was welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast but as a coeliac I was disappointed that my breakfast options were less varied than for others. The sausages and hash browns were not gluten free (both items are available gluten free in supermarkets, so why can't the hotel serve them to guests if requested). There were no gluten free pastries/cakes either. The croissants on display (not gluten free) were the small ones that you can buy from the supermarket, like in a bag of eight or so. They looked squashed and not so appetising to my companions who are not coeliac. So, the breakfast was a bit disappointing. I have stayed at other hotel chains and some (such as Premier Inn) will take your order and cook it separately so that there is no cross-contamination from the buffet breakfast. All items on the buffet have been available gluten free. That is the level of service that someone with coeliac disease should be getting. Sorry Copthorne Tara, you could and should do better by your customers."

"The studio room on 5th floor cost ~£180 p.n. Had climate control (useful). Hotel looked stylish albeit with some quirks. Studio room wsa dictated by the placement of the door. The door opens, inwards of course, meaning you have to have space in front of it. The bed then was placed on the window side & the bed couldn't be any bigger than a double (no chance or a King or Queen). Which then led to the odd things. You need space, next to the window to allow that person to get into bed. Which, because of the size issue, afforded you enough space to have your legs shuffle in that side & into bed. Which then meant that the side table next to the window side was tiny (i mean size of a small plate). Which then meant to mirror it, the other side of the bed had the same side table and that meant you had half a room completely devoid of furniture. Dead space. The generous wardrobe was fitted and next to the bathroom. That meant when you opened the wardrobe, you couldn't get in or out of the bathroom. Bathroom clean & had the amenities but the toilet roll holder was placed such that your arms would constantly knock the roll onto the floor. Oddities like this extended to getting drinking water. I had to go to the 10th floor & fill up in a communal kitchen. No water from bar for my bottle. Area was fine. Easy access to public transport. You get a pool & gym. But didn't use them (no time). We had a good stay (bed comfortable) but aybe if all you want is a base look elsewhere."

"Stayed for one night while in London to attend the Garth Brooks event in Hyde Park. The hotel was in a perfect location to be able to walk rather than relying on public transport. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and professional. The room was spotless and well maintained. Breakfast was perfect, everything you expected and constantly replenished. Thank you to all at Thistle Kensington Hyde Park for making our stay perfect!"

"The location is top notch, really easy to te t around. Next to the Natural History and Victoria & Albert museums, short walk to Hyde Park, and well connected to public transportation especially to/from Heathrow (picadilly line). The hotel is dated, and during my stay London was in the middle of a heat wave with temperatures ranging from 80 to 100 throughout the day. On my first night, the AC in my room was not working and the staff said that the hotel was fully booked and they would move me to a different room the next day. I had a rough night, needless to say. However, the AC in the second room was working fine! Other guests had the same issue with their rooms and they were given portable fans since there were no rooms available."

"Twin bed room for my daughter and I. Room was clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable. Great air conditioning especially for the heat wave during our stay. Location was good, 2 tube stations only a few minutes walk from the hotel for travel into London city centre. Also shops and restaurants and pubs nearby are open till quite late."
