"This was our third stay at the Mitre House Hotel. Such a great location in Sussex Gardens. It's within walking distance from Paddington Station as well as two tube stops: Paddington and Lancaster Gate (which means it is walkable to Kensington Gardens and the Marble Arch. Room rates are reasonable and include a complimentary breakfast. Since we arrive early in the morning, we stop to drop our luggage, spend the day sightseeing, returning late afternoon to check in. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our room is a bit snug in spots but comfortable and clean. There was closet space to hang clothes and stow luggage. There are several terrific restaurants within a couple blocks of the hotel. And it is safe to walk about the neighborhood to and from restaurants or the tube or train station at all hours."

"We traveled with a 1-year-old and were unfortunately placed on a floor that was under construction during our stay. The noise was very disruptive, especially during nap time and overnight, which made it difficult for our baby to sleep comfortably. The room itself was clean, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel is also in a great location with easy access to public transportation and many attractions around London, which was definitely a plus. However, the room felt extremely small for two adults and a baby. We were also disappointed that the only sleeping option offered for our child was a playpen rather than an actual crib. Combined with the construction noise, it made traveling with a young child more challenging than expected. We also felt that the hotel was outdated and gave more of an “upscale motel” feel than what we anticipated from the photos online. Overall, if you’re looking for a convenient place to stay for a quick trip to London, it’s not a terrible option — but families with small children may want to consider other accommodations."

"The hotel is nice and in a good location. The room was well furnished and clean, However, the bed was placed in such a way that I could not access the window to close the blinds. The bed was also immovable which meant my window blind was 2/3 open during my sleep and indeed waking/ getting ready- not ideal! Breakfast also was little to be desired. I went down 30 mins before close but none of the items had been refreshed. It is a continental style breakfast offering (with limited options) yet when I was there I was only able to choose from toast, a tiny scrap of ham (leftovers from what I assume was once a full plate), some dried out hummus, a few other empty plates, a bowl of olives and some sliced underripe tomato. I asked one of the servers if that was 'it' and I was offered boiled eggs, so graciously I requested two soft boiled eggs... only to be presented 1 minute later with 2 completed dry, overcooked eggs (assumedly from under a heat lamp). So there was potential to be a good hotel and worth a visit, but sadly the lack of privacy in the room and the disappointing breakfast let it down."

"Overpriced hostels, it's alright overall, but their customers service is horrible, I ask them multiple time over multiple day for clean towels and I only got them on day 3, they do not clear our room regularly either, I upgraded to have coffee in my room and they keep forgetting to give us coffee and would mix decaf with regular cafe even after requesting no decaf, its full of young students everywhere and the room are ridiculously small ( even after I upgraded my room to more space which costed me quite a bit ) the room was the smallest room I ever been in. It felt as if it was a hostel not a hotel at all. Won't be going back."
