"We were looking for a pet friendly, ocean front home and this one happened to be available. We read the reviews and were a little concerned about the cleanliness. While I don’t think it was as bad as some of the reviews indicated, I agree it needs a thorough cleaning. The walls were dirty. The quilts in 2 of the rooms need replacing. For the good…the location is great. We loved being able to access the beach so easily. We loved the covered back porch and the elevated seating that offered a view of the ocean, as well as the sea oats and dunes. The kitchen was stocked generously with pots and pans and they had a Keurig and a standard drip coffee machine. The property manager had a goodie bag with extra toiletries and dish soap as well as clothes detergent. The master bedroom shower was very small, but WOW….the pressure of the water was amazing! Overall, I would recommend, particularly for a young family with a pet."

"This house was phenomenal! The location is great and just a few houses down from a easy access beach ramp (there are only a handful of the ramps on the island) so this was a huge perk for rolling wagons and coolers! The host is an absolute delight, super communicative and very accommodating! Rooms were fantastic and had towels and linens for each. Each room has its own AC unit so everyone was comfortable the whole trip. The front porch was a great spot to sip coffee and hang out in the mornings or late evenings. The pool was a huge perk, super easy to set up the space for a day of splashing and fun. The hot tub was an awesome addition as well in the evenings or first thing in the morning. Lots of open space to hang out both inside and outside. Plenty of cookware and utensils in the kitchen. Large table to eat together at as well. Large sectional was nice to pile up on and watch movies on the rainy days. Location is super close to the Publix and most of the other places the island has to offer. Also a short distance from one of the piers as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the space. My family has been vacationing in Oak Island since I was a teen and this by far has been the best stay yet and was a great place to introduce my kiddo to Oak Island and continue the tradition. We will most definitely be returning in the future because this place has everything you could ask for in a vacation spot! Cannot rave about this spot enough! A true gem on Oak Island!"

"We had a nice stay at this beach property. The home was conveniently located near the beach, and the walk was not very far. The beach supplies were a great bonus—they provided chairs, a beach cart, sand toys, and a Shibumi shade. They also had bikes available, which were especially nice for the kids.The kitchen was adequate and had what we needed for our stay.The main issue we had was with the listing photos and sleeping arrangements. We booked the property believing our son would have his own bedroom based on the photos. However, when we arrived, we found that the room shown with two twin beds was actually set up with bunk beds, and our son ended up sleeping on a daybed/couch that was set up in a hallway. This was disappointing, especially for a larger group, and we felt the photos were misleading about the actual sleeping arrangements.Aside from that issue, we enjoyed the location and appreciated the beach amenities provided by the property."

"Had a wonderful stay at Terry’s place! He was very communicative throughout our stay as well as in preparation for our visit. The house was great with plenty of space for the family to spread out. Quick walk to the beach and short drives to the pier and point. Highly recommend!"

"We had such a great stay at Hollywood Haven! The space was a cozy two-bedroom lower-level home that was very clean, organized, and comfortable. It had everything we needed and was an amazing value for the price.One of the biggest highlights for us was how pet-friendly the property was. Having a fully enclosed backyard where our dog could safely go outside was incredibly convenient and made traveling with a pup so much easier. The location was also great—just a short drive to the beach, while still being quiet and relaxing. Between the cleanliness, pet-friendly setup, convenient location, and super affordable price, we really couldn’t have asked for more.We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely come back again! Highly recommend, especially if you’re traveling with a dog! "
