"I didn’t mind all of the stairs but people who have difficulties with stairs might not want to stay here. I enjoyed the terrace with views of the old town plus a good place to relax. The breakfast was very good, the woman taking care of everything was so sweet."

"Situation exceptionnelle"

"The accommodation is in a great central location. There were some communication issues at the start but when they did respond they were very helpful. My main issue was the lack of internet/WiFi in the room. When I contacted the staff they said they were aware of it but couldn’t do anything about it. It would have been nice to have some complimentary water in room but everything seemed to be at a charge. The breakfast was very good."

"Nice hotel near the old town. Very convenient for a visit to Palermo. Walking distance to restaurants and tourist attractions."

"This hotel is the ideal location for exploring Palermo. Staff was awesome and the buffet breakfast incredible. I would definitely stay here again!"

"This hotel is fine. It wasn’t as nice as in the pictures but honestly if you’re going to be there just for sleeping it’s perfect. It has everything you need and the staff is great. If you’re looking for a fancy hotel I would say pick something else but something easy conveniently located and average it’s perfect. Especially for the price."

"Not good"

"Very clean, very central. Just perfect"

"Location was perfect. Walkable to many sites. Staff was very helpful, carried my luggage up steps. Great, affordable option. I recommend staying here."

"The staff at check-in was very helpful even though he spoke no English we were able to communicate effectively and he helped us to figure out our parking spot in a private lot, which is definitely a challenge in Palermo! The rooms were small, but neat and clean, perfect for what we needed for our stay. The building does not have any windows in the hallways, and so the lights automatically turn off, which took some getting used to, but wasn’t a problem in the end. it would be nice in the...

"Fantastic location, great staff, and great room. Breakfast was the only thing that could have improved in every area fruit, salads, breads - made to order eggs were an additional cost which is not normal when you pay 400 Euros per night."

"Surprisingly quiet for a hotel so conveniently located in the middle of the historic center! Very clean with friendly and helpful staff. A true gem!"

"Friendly staff, spacy room, excellent location to various tourist spots."

"The ground floor lounge spaces and its bar always seemed deserted, and there is a strong smell of Ortigia room scents throughout. The heavy-handed interior design overwhelms the more classic beauty of the original palazzi. We are architects, so this kind of poor design is more offensive to us than most. We finally got help with the AC, which had been turned off in our first room, and the young men "helping" us turn it back on were surly and laughing at our apparent stupidity in not being able...

"Palazzo Achates was perfect for us! It is in the center of old town on a quiet street and has been fully renovated with a beautiful modern minimalist design. I booked the last room available which, was described as small, but it was actually quite roomy and lovely. The owner answered all requests promptly and was wonderfully welcoming! He made us feel assured that the keycard entry to the hotel itself would work smoothly at any hour of the night, and it did. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"
