"Nice hotel, sleepless nights
My daughter and I were in Paris for a few days to celebrate my birthday and I booked this hotel as it was close to Moulin Rouge, which we had tickets for. I read the reviews and most were acceptable and I noticed it had sound proofing and other reviewers had said it was quiet, but perhaps they meant on a quiet street. There was no sound proofing at all as the walls were paper thin. I could hear the guest in the room next to me who had a mobile phone on all the time and had messages coming through throughout the night. My daughter is very sensitive to noise so did not sleep at all the first night. She was offered a room on the 4th floor (having previously been on the 2nd floor), which she accepted of course, thinking this would be better but it was not. We spoke to the receptionist and the manager. Although he was apologetic, he was very blase about the whole thing even to the point of asking "why did you book then"? I BOOKED BECAUSE THE HOTEL WAS ADVERTISED AS BEING SOUND PROOFED! On checking out, there was no offer of any goodwill gesture or refund for one night which could have been offered, especially as the manager was around when we were checking out. So, if you want a nice, boutique hotel and don't mind hearing other guests then book this hotel. I believe if you have rooms on the right, ending in "3" these are quieter but I would not risk booking again just to find this out."
