The Landmark Hotel

"Landmark Hotel is an excellent place to stay in Pikeville: clean, well-maintained &, when we were there, quiet. Exactly what is needed after a long day's drive. The staff are welcoming & helpful. They couldn't be more friendly. Two comments, though both are minor: It was strange that two remotes are needed for the room television & whatever cable or satellite service they have is limited: CNN, Fox, & Newsmax - yes. But why no MS Now? Second, it would help to have brochures with information about local restaurants. We like to "eat local" & found a great Italian restaurant on the other side of town - but purely by chance. Overall, though, we were glad to stay at Landmark & will, again, when we're in Pikeville."

"Our room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Melissa provided us with an excellent complete breakfast. She was so attentive and hard working. The staff was friendly and helpful. Besides Melissa, special mention to Kyle and Buffy the manager. Kyle helped me jump our car. Buffy brought us a whole canister of coffee when there was a shortage of packets in the room."

Gateway To The Breaks Motel

"It's a comfortable and laid back place to stay very near the Breaks Park. Rooms are large and clean. They have a big tv, comfortable beds, good sized refrigerator and microwave. Plus they offer so many amenities outside. Covered porch with fire pit and cushiony chairs. Plus picnic tables and fire pits. It's a great hidden gem that let's you get away while still having the comforts of home."
Nice private home in Matewan, close to trails! Hottub, Pool, fire pits & games!

"Tons of room and very close to multiple trailheads. Plenty of beds if you have a large group. Hot tub was nice after a long day out on the trails. Very private setting with plenty of room to park trucks and trailers. Can't wait to come back and ride the hatfields again!"

"The breakfast was fantastic! Especially loved the apple cinnamon waffles! The stay all great except the really strong musty smell. I know it has been remodeled and looks great, but that smell is pretty strong in the halls and rooms. We've stayed here several times. And while it might havr had a smell of an older hotel, it was never really unpleasant. This time it was. We come through from time to time, and will likely stay again, but hopefully they can figure out the source of the musty odor!"
