"The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, if on the small side. Nice outlook. The pool and sauna was very adequate. Breakfast was good but we would question value for money. Parking was great."

"Having read previous reviews, our expectations were low. Only to find in booking in that the rooms were very good. Spacious, clean and with good facilities. The only criticism internally was the carpet could benefit from either cleaning or replacing. The stairwells could also benefit from a paint refresh. The staff go beyond on providing customer service and trust they are getting rewarded accordingly. The food, although the service was slow, the evening meal was very good but the portions were on the small side. More garlic bread with the Chilli please. The breakfast was excellent. Now the golf course, the greens regardless of the fact that we were told they were being maintained they are the worst greens we have seen in 50 years of playing golf elsewhere. One of our party was friends with the previous owner 10 years ago and the course then was immaculate. It still has the same potential but needs investment.Then it would be a lovely place to come for Golfing Weekend and also maybe a Wedding venue. My final statement, is that you ran out of Guinness."

"Breakfast was absolutely lovely and we really enjoyed it. Having the evening meal as part of the package was great too — the food was very good, and we’d definitely try the steak again. The staff were so friendly, the grounds were lovely, and our hotel room was very clean. We’d definitely recommend visiting again💚"

"Good location and hotel for our overnight stopover on the way to North Devon. The room was spacious and twin beds very comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional. Unfortunately the shower was poor very low water pressure and temperature control was difficult. Not enough tea bags and milk in the room for two people, 1 bag each. Yes you can go to reception and get more but should be at least 4 tea bags and enough milk for two people to have two hot drinks each in my opinion. The decor and carpets in the public areas look a bit tired. The hotel has a small indoor pool and gym which we didn’t use but looked pretty good."

"Such a quaint hotel, we had a good stay! The room was pretty small but worked for the one night we were there. I’d suggest adding a mini fridge to the room as it would be helpful to have. The room is really warm. We didn’t go during the heat wave but the room felt stuffy with not much ventilation which puts the rating down. What carries the hotel is the wonderful and kind staff. They were chatty and happy to help!"
