"The location is excellent. Really centrally located and walkable to everything you would need in Sorrento. Valet service is offered if you have a car and they are one of few hotels that are dog friendly with no weight restriction - we have a medium dog which falls way over the standard 5kg or generous 10kg rule! The staff however, do not really leave an impact. Reception staff answer all questions appropriately but I wouldn’t describe as warm or friendly. F&B staff in abundance at breakfast but the spread was disappointing and coffee always delivered cold. Three mornings with three different coffees tried, all served tepid at most. Shame as it is a classic and old Italian building which has its charm otherwise. "

"I usually do not take the time to complete reviews, even when I really enjoy the location. In this case, I’m anxious to do so, as the Grand Hotel Capodimonte in Sorrento, Italy, is an amazing place. Probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, which not only includes our room, but the elevator, restaurant, lawns, etc. The location is amazing – you simply walk about 150 yards down the hill and you’re in the heart of the best shopping and dining in the city. Other hotels are on the strip, but they are “too busy”, and the 150 yard walk is worth it. A 10-minute walk to the marina to catch ferries to Pasitano, Alalfi, Capri, etc., and a 15-minute walk to the bus terminal for additional options. The staff could not have been more friendly. Complimentary breakfast was first class all the way. Our plane left super-early from Naples (1.5 hours away), so we had to leave before breakfast was served. The hotel made us a “travel breakfast bag” to eat on the way to the airport. Incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated. One of my finest travel experiences ever. A+++ and highly recommended. "The view is amazing. We really enjoyed that. Our room was quite spacious and the bedroom and bathroom was always clean. The staff are quite friendly with the exception of one front desk gentlemen. We enjoyed the welcome drinks as well as a special touch for my bday they provided complimentary. Now for not so great; our room thermostat was malfunctioning constantly. We couldnt ever change it ourselves. Called the front desk numerous times and never had anyone actually come take a look-they just said they will shut it off on their end, but it kept coming on and off on its own. We had the room fluctuate from 18c to 26c frequently so made sleeping impossible. Also our room was right below the kitchen area, so you constantly hear the screeching and movement of chairs right above your head - a very much annoyance that also made sleeping difficult. Beautiful spot. But things like this need addressing please. "

"The view over the Mediterranean from this hotel is mesmerizing. You are in for a delicious breakfast with lots of varieties if you want to try their restaurant. Just wish if there was an indoor swimming pool. Also, make sure to know about their shuttle bus schedule as there were no signs on the bus and the evening driver wasn’t that tourists friendly. Your only way to Sorrento is the shuttle or local bus ( SITA bus). Otherwise, taxi is a pricy option Rooms are clean, room service is good."
