"Great little space for a stay near beautiful keswick, cottage was located a 10-15 minute drive from the town centre & gorgous walks local throughout. Clean, tidy cottage with a great shower. Only slight issue was the kitchen was very compact so would benefit from a wooden top that could be placed over the sink to give more work top space. Some clear instructions for the oven would be great too as it was difficult to use, had to google how to use and even then couldnt get it working 100%. Overall a lovely great stay & we would stay here again x"

"Lovely cottage in a picturesque area. Clean and roomy. Did not have hot water. Radiant heaters were not operating. No napkins or paper towels. No detergent for dishwasher. We were uncomfortable without hot water and heating. Unable to communicate readily with owner or property manager. "

"Great location for us as we wanted to explore that area. Cottage is set out lovely, you can relax on a cosy sofa looking out over the hills from large patio doors. Bedroom cosy with a comfortable bed. Would be a positive improvement if you got some new bedding. Kitchen well equipped but please, please clean the oven and the overhead fan. Bathroom with a large shower with lovely hot water, but please, please mend the broken tiles and re grout the base of the shower. Great tv but needs a booklet to explain how to use it , as we’re not that great with technology."

"Great property, only critism is no detail on how to book a pool slot time, although wasnt an issue as we booked a 2nd property for inlaws and we recieved the information through other booking source. If visiting with small kids who may roll out of bed recomend bringing a bed side guard, travel cot/highcair was available in property."

"The property was beautiful and had everything we needed. We hiked Catbells, Hallin fell, and Black Moss Pot in Stonethwaite. We enjoyed a swim in Lake Ullswater-- we went to Glenridding and followed a footpath down to the water and had a little private cove all to ourselves on a hot day. We also hiked at Hadrian's wall and pursued some family history at Blenkinsopp Castle. We visited Keswick and had terrific Indian/Bangladeshi food at Saffron Kitchen. We ate breakfast for 4 days at the cottage and made two suppers while there and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only difficulty we had was communicating with the host, but I think that was more of a VRBO interface problem. VRBO was saying I had the wrong email address even though I was communicating via the VRBO app. Once I set up an account in cottages.com and reached out that way, I got a prompt response. The only thing I would suggest is to have pertinent property information posted on a paper near the kitchen table and wifi access code. It would be helpful to have general terms posted to include the check out time (since it is a bit earlier than most properties), whether we need to provide additional supplies such as toilet roll or whether those are supplied by the host, and any requirements for how to leave the property (what to do with trash and recycling, if there are other requests re: towels and bedding, etc.). We absolutely loved our stay in the beautifully updated Doddick Chase stone cottage!"

"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was very good, the only issue i had was the staircase and low ceiling in the bedroom but this does not detract from the overall view of the lodge and i would have no quarms abour booking there again."
