"I was so excited to stay at the Casablanca just to get there and find out the pictures shown on their website were so deceiving not at all what you are getting. We had mold in our bathroom, carpets were filthy gross, glad I had slippers to wear couldnt bare to walk on the carpet without them. Breakfast was not at all what is described. All the "fixings to make a breakfast sandwich" is a different vision then a warmed up jimmy dean croisant sandwich coming out of the microwave. The gym is extremely small, the equipment doesn't work its very old. In fact we had to go find a different gym to use while there because it was so bad. Zero ventilation throughout the entire place which is likely why there is mold. Im not one to write reviews or complain which is also the reason we didnt say anything at the time of our stay, but my husband is now very sick and its obvious its from the condition of our room and the mold. His symptoms started the day we left. I wish I could recommend this place and would have liked to use them in the future as we do frequent the area but I can't do that. If you say you offer something then do it don't glorify it in a description and then give the dollar store version once you bait your people in. Thats exactly how this experience felt. Sadly I don't have pictures to share cause like I said Im not the kind of person to complain. "

"I live in Carlsbad Ca and enjoyed my 3-day stay at Oceana Boutique Hotel. The room is spacious, with ceiling fan, charming with white brick walls and wood slat ceilings. It is historic and renovated. My room was a charming color scheme of navy & turquoise with boat-themed art over the bed. Huge TV made me feel so comfy and the bed and pillows were plush. Microwave, mini fridge and convenient parking in the motel lot. Staff is great! Shelly was so welcoming and fun to talk to, lovely! If you are respectful and follow the rules of the property you will have a good stay. I loved walking the wandering Spanish streets at night. San Clemente is very safe. Oceana is essentially in a residential neighborhood which is great; you are a short walk to dining/shopping (4-6 minutes!) and you can stroll to the pier. You are also a short drive (10 minutes) to neighboring city, San Juan Capistrano with its historic town and Mission. The bathroom was wonderful, large shower and my stay was so peaceful. The staff make Oceana special and take pride in the property! Lovely garden outside, banyan trees at the back. A couple Oriental cockroaches slipped under my door at night. This comes sometimes with coastal areas (Carlsbad too). I would return. San Clemente is a hilly area with great opportunities to walk and wander. Quality independent restaurants abound nearby and great authentic Italian gelato a 7-min walk down the street at Lucky Dog! Wonderful experience at Oceana!:)"
