"This property was close to Pier 39 and was great for location. The bar and restaurant area were ok…but had an almost cafeteria feel, but as I said - close to many dining and bar options at the Pier. Overall I would rate this over 4 stars but not quite a 5 star hotel, which makes it affordable and convenient. I would stay there again…"

"Our stay was only for one night. If you aren't looking for big frills and such, its a very safe and comfortalble alternative. It's relatively close to "all the action" in San Francisco without being loud or massive. Accomodations are more modest but in a place with so much to do and see where one is unlikely to be hanging around all day in their room, that makes it quite ideal. If you're looking for pampering and all sort of services, Star Motel isn't for you. If you're looking to visit San Francisco and have a clean, affordable, safe lodging option that is conveniently located near so much great stuff in the city (as we were), then Star Motel is fantastic. Also, the "retro" theme was kind of fun. "

"Wonderful place to stay close to San Francisco. Very clean, newly remodeled, great relaxing pool and ping pong in the back. Felt like someone’s backyard so quiet and personal even right off the free way. Would very highly recommend for a super nice place to stay for a good price. "
