Apple Orchard Inn

"The Apple Orchard Inn is my new happy place! The moment we arrived; Jim warmly welcomed us and invited us to enjoy a homemade cookie. He also showed us where we could find bottled water. My husband and I stayed in the Macintosh Room, a comfortable and beautifully decorated room on the second floor. It was quiet, cozy, and inviting. The bathroom was roomy, the towels were soft and fluffy, and the apple-shaped key ring was absolutely adorable. The photos online accurately represent how beautifully the property is landscaped and maintained. After our long drive, we spent more than an hour relaxing by the small pond. It didn't just look beautiful—it felt peaceful and restorative. Located about 10 miles north of Durango in Hermosa, the inn has a relaxed country atmosphere. The grounds feature an apple orchard, a small pond, babbling brooks, wildflowers, thoughtfully placed trees and rose bushes for privacy, and even a chicken coop that provides farm-fresh eggs. The made-to-order breakfast was absolutely delicious. Thank you, Leslie, for the wonderful meal. Leslie cooked while Jim served, and together they made a great team. We highly recommend the Apple Orchard Inn and can't wait to return."

Beautiful Rustic Mountain Home

"Our stay in Mike and Debbie’s cabin was wonderful! The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and had little touches like welcome snacks by the coffee bar and blankets to use on cool mornings/evenings. It was a short drive to Durango for activities and had the most beautiful view of the Mountains. Our family loved the pool table, game room and hot tub as a great escape from screens and time together. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with any questions. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"We enjoyed staying for two nights in the historic Days Cabin on the James Ranch. The cabin combines the history of the Animas River Valley with all of today’s conveniences. We loved the water flowing down the adjacent aceqiua (irrigation ditch), but the unfamiliar sound made sleeping soundly a bit challenging. Even so, we’ll be back, hopefully for three or more nights."

"This was the perfect place for a girls trip. Could not recommend this place more!! Lovely views, great common areas, and close to Durango! Only issue was one of the AC units did not work and no repairman was available for our entire stay. We made due with lots of fans provided by the property. Otherwise, everything was great!! We thoroughly enjoyed the common areas and outdoor space. Thank you!"
